Sunset Sound Studios
Sunset Sound Recorders is a recording studio in Hollywood, California, United States located at 6650 Sunset Boulevard. Background The Sunset Sound Recorders complex was created by Walt Disney's Director of Recording, Tutti Camarata, from a collection of old commercial and residential buildings. At the encouragement of Disney himself, Camarata began the project in 1958, starting with a former automotive repair garage whose sloping floor would tend to reduce unwanted sonic standing wave reflections. Walter David "Dave" Hassinger (March 31, 1927 – August 15, 2007) was an American Grammy award-winning recording engineer and record producer. Biography Early years Born in Los Angeles, California, he joined the U.S. Navy aged 17, and was one of the first divers on the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor. He became a radio engineer in the Navy, before leaving due to illness and moving to Alaska, where he helped set up radio stations in Seward and Anchorage. Moonglow Records was a small record label in the 1960s. They were famous for signing The Righteous Brothers before they were signed by Phil Spector for his Philles Records. ''Strange Days'' is the second studio album by the American rock music, rock band the Doors, released on September 25, 1967, by Elektra Records. After the successful release of ''The Doors (album), The Doors'', the band started working on new and old material as well in early 1967 for their second record. Upon release, ''Strange Days'' reached number three on the Billboard 200, US ''Billboard'' 200, and eventually earned RIAA music recording sales certification, platinum certification.
