Sunita Dulal
Sunita Dulal (Nepali: सुनिता दुलाल; born 28 November 1991) is a prominent Nepalese folk singer from Kathmandu, Nepal (born in Jalbire, Sindhulpalchok District). She has been singing Nepali folk, festive to modern songs for the last ten years. Sunita Dulal is a multitalented young Nepali woman. In addition to singing, Sunita Dulal also does acting, presents program on NTV ( Nepal Television, a state television channel), and modeling as well. Recently, she has released her 13th album ''Mero Hajur'' on market which reflects to be another super hit Nepalese Teej Festive album of her. Teej festival normally falls from late July to early September. Sunita Dulal has now released her this year's Teej Album ''Nachau Sarara'; which is her 15th album including songs 'Teej Ko Ayo Lahara' and 'Chuppa Moi Khaula'. "Melancholy" ( Nepali: मिलानकोली) is an environmentally-themed song sung by 365 Nepali artists. This song was intended to promote an environmental message by breaking the Guinness World Records for "Most Vocal Solos in a Song Recording", which it successfully did. It was written, music composed and directed by environmentalist Nipesh Dhaka. The song was recorded as a single on 19 May 2016. The recording sessions were inaugurated by Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli at 8 am and continued until 6 pm. The song was released on 2 September 2017 by President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Army Officer's Club, Kathmandu. Dohori Singers
Dohori ( or ), also known as Lok Dohori, is a type of Nepali folk song usually sung by two teams, one of men and another of women. It is in the form of question and answer where a team sings a question and the opponent replies through an equally lyrical impromptu couplet and vice versa. The term ''dohori'', means 'back and forth' and refers to the exchange of lyrical phrases between the contesting singers. The song production is collaborative and involves many individuals. Like all Nepali folk songs, dohori originated in the rural areas of Nepal and now is sung in both rural and urban settlements and is popular amongst the Nepali speaking diaspora in the UK, US, and Bahrain. Bidya Devi Bhandari (, ; born 19 June 1961) is a Nepali politician who is serving as the second and current president of Nepal. She formerly served as the minister of defence and minister of environment and population. She is the first woman to hold the office in the country. She served as the vice-chairperson of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) and was the chair of the All Nepal Women's Association before being elected president. Bhandari previously served as the Minister of Defence, the first woman to hold the office, from 2009 to 2011. Nepal Television ( ne, नेपाल टेलिभिजन), shortened to NTV is the Nepalese national public state-controlled television broadcaster. It is the oldest and most watched television channel in Nepal.
