Sunil Kumar Sharma is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a member of the 18th Legislative Assembly and Sharma is considered a close aide of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh, BJP'S National President J.P. Nadda with whom he had work for years. He has earlier been part of the 17th Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, representing the Sahibabad constituency and elected by the largest victory margin in the 2017 and the 2022 assembly elections. A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the legislature of State government in the Indian system of government. Rajnath Singh (; born 10 July 1951) is an Indian politician serving as the Defence Minister of India. He is currently the Deputy Leader of the House Lok Sabha. He is the former President of Bharatiya Janata Party. He has previously served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and as a Cabinet Minister in the Vajpayee Government. He was the Home Minister in the First Modi Ministry. He has also served as the President of the BJP twice i.e. 2005 to 2009 and 2013 to 2014.
