Sunil Ambris
Sunil Walford Ambris (born 23 March 1993) is a Vincentian professional cricketer who has played for the Windward Islands and the Combined Campuses and Colleges in West Indian domestic cricket, as well as representing the St Lucia Zouks franchise in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He was the first player to be dismissed hit-wicket twice in consecutive Tests and the first to be dismissed hit-wicket on test debut. Domestic career At the 2012–13 Caribbean Twenty20, Ambris played two matches for the Combined Campuses, against the Leeward Islands and Jamaica. His first-class debut came during the 2013–14 Regional Four Day Competition, when he played for the Windward Islands against Guyana. Saint Vincent is a volcanic island in the Caribbean. It is the largest island of the country Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and is located in the Caribbean Sea, between Saint Lucia and Grenada. Regional Four Day Competition
The Regional Four Day Competition, formerly known as Shell Shield and Carib Beer Cup, is the first-class cricket competition in the West Indies. It is administered by the Cricket West Indies. In the 2013-2014 season the winner of the tournament was awarded the WICB President's Trophy while the winners of the knockout competition were awarded the George Headley/ Everton Weekes trophy. In a few previous seasons the winners of the tournament were awarded the Headley/Weekes trophy. Hit Wicket
Hit wicket is a method of dismissal in the sport of cricket. This method of dismissal is governed by Law 35 of the Laws of Cricket. The striker is out "hit wicket" if, after the bowler has entered his delivery stride and while the ball is in play, his wicket is put down by his bat or his person. The striker may do this whilst preparing to receive or receiving a delivery or in setting off for his first run after playing the delivery. In simple language, if the striking batsman knocks the bails off the stumps or uproots the stumps, while attempting to hit the ball or take off for a run, he is out hit wicket. The West Indies cricket team toured New Zealand in December 2017 and January 2018 to play two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Three Tests were originally planned, but it was reduced to two by New Zealand Cricket (NZC) to conform to the expected tour make-up when the ICC World Test Championship is implemented. The Papua New Guinea national under-19 cricket team represents the country of Papua New Guinea in Under-19 international cricket. 2012 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was a one-day cricket competition for sixteen international U-19 cricketing teams which was held in August 2012. This was the ninth time that the tournament was held since its inception back in 1988. The tournament was held in Australia for the second time after previously hosting it in 1988 with the tournament being held across three cities (Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Townsville). Six teams qualified from the qualifying event as they joined the full members that automatically qualified through to the World Cup. The 2016–17 Regional Super50 was the 43rd edition of the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). The tournament was held in Antigua and Barbuda. Leeward Islands National Cricket Team
The Leeward Islands cricket team is a first class cricket team representing the member countries of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association, an associate of the West Indies Cricket Board. Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts, Nevis, Anguilla, Montserrat, British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands and Sint Maarten are members of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association.
