The Gombak River ( ms, Sungai Gombak) is a river which flows through Selangor and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. It is a tributary of the Klang River. The point where it meets the Klang River is the origin of Kuala Lumpur's name. Gombak River was used to be called Sungai Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur's name was taken as it was located in Sungai Lumpur's confluence or "Kuala Lumpur". Klang River
The Klang River ( ms, Sungai Klang) is a river which flows through Kuala Lumpur and Selangor in Malaysia and eventually flows into the Straits of Malacca. It is approximately in length and drains a basin of about . The Klang River has 11 major tributaries. Because the river flows through Klang Valley, which is a heavily populated area of more than four million people, it is considerably polluted, because of deep siltation caused by human waste from informal settlers of the riverbank and even from some business establishments without septic tanks or sewage treatment plants and by soil carried by mudflows from mountains. Heavy development has narrowed certain stretches of the river to the point that it resembles a large storm drain in some places. Sentul, Kuala Lumpur
Sentul is a suburb located within the northern part of the city centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in the constituency of Batu. The vicinity of Sentul is sandwiched between Segambut and Titiwangsa. History Sentul is a former railway hub famous for its old-world charm, historical temples and prewar shops. During World War II, Sentul was one of the last towns in Kuala Lumpur that was heavily bombed by the British B-29 planes without any warning on 19 February 1945. The bomb targets were two rail complexes managed by Marai Tetsudo, the Japanese name for the former Federated Malay States Railway (FMSR). The destruction of the central workshop signified the end of the Japanese Occupation in Malaya. Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (formerly Batu Road) is a major one-way road in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Bandaraya LRT station is an elevated rapid transit station in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The station is on the common route shared by the Ampang Line and Sri Petaling Line (originally known as STAR Line). The station was opened on 16 December 1996, as part of the first phase of the STAR system's opening, along with 13 adjoining stations along the Sultan Ismail to Ampang route. The station stands between the eastern banks of the Gombak River and an intersection between Jalan Raja Laut, a major thoroughfare along the Gombak River, and Jalan Isfahan. Wangsa Maju is a township and a constituency in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This area is surrounded by Setapak, Taman Melati and Gombak district in Selangor.
