Sunday Drive (film)
''Sunday Drive'' is a 1986 American made-for-television family comedy film produced by Walt Disney Television starring Tony Randall, Carrie Fisher, Audra Lindley and Ted Wass. It originally aired November 30, 1986 as a presentation of ''The Disney Sunday Movie'' on ABC. Plot Two drivers with identical cars unwittingly take each other's vehicle while at a restaurant – one belonging to a childless couple, Bill and Joan, out on a Sunday drive with their niece and nephew (Christine and John) while their parents are away – and the other car belonging to Paul Sheridan, a young man on his way to meet his fiancé and to begin working for her father. In Paul's car is his dog, whom Bill and Joan mistake for the children when they get into his car and drive away; and while Paul goes into their car, the children are under a blanket and he mistakenly assumes it's his dog. The Walt Disney Company has produced an anthology television series since 1954 under several titles and formats. The program's current title, ''The Wonderful World of Disney'', was used from 1969 to 1979 and again from 1991 to the present. The program moved among the Big Three television networks in its first four decades, but has aired on ABC since 1997 and Disney+ since 2020. The original version of the series premiered on ABC in 1954. The show was broadcast weekly on one of the Big Three television networks until 1990, a 36-year span with only a two-year hiatus in 1984–85. The series was broadcast on Sunday for 25 of those years. Norman Alden
Norman Alden (born Norman Adelberg, September 13, 1924 – July 27, 2012) was an American character actor who performed in television programs and motion pictures. He first appeared on television on ''The 20th Century Fox Hour'' in 1957. He provided the voice of Kay in '' The Sword in the Stone'' (1963), and had a notable role in '' I Never Promised You a Rose Garden''. His acting career began in 1957 and lasted nearly 50 years. He is also known for playing Kranix and Arblus in '' The Transformers: The Movie'' (1986). He retired from acting in 2006. He died on 27 June 2012 at the age of 87. Background Alden was born in Fort Worth, Texas and was the son of Ben Adelberg and Esther Covinsky Adelberg. He served in the United States Army during World War II and returned to Fort Worth to attend Texas Christian University under the GI Bill of Rights.
