Sunbelt Baseball League
The Sunbelt Baseball League (SBL) is a non-profit collegiate summer baseball league with teams located in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, Columbus and Oxford, Alabama. The SBL is a member of the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball, which is partially funded by Major League Baseball Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball organization and the oldest major professional sports league in the world. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Kennesaw State University (KSU) is a public research university located in the state of Georgia with two different campuses in the Atlanta metropolitan area, one in Kennesaw and the other in Marietta on a combined of land. Xzavion Rashan Curry (born July 27, 1998) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). Amateur career Curry attended Benjamin Elijah Mays High School in Atlanta, Georgia and Georgia Tech, where he played college baseball for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. During the summer of 2018, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Reinhardt University is a private university in Waleska, Georgia. The university has an off-campus center in Alpharetta and offers some programs in Cartersville, Marietta, and Canton, and online. Waleska, Georgia
Waleska ( ) is a city in Cherokee County, Georgia, United States. The population was 644 at the 2010 census. History The first white settlement in the Waleska area began in the early 1830s. Among these first pioneer settlers were the Reinhardt, Heard and Rhyne families, who moved into the region looking for fresh, fertile farm land. At first, these settlers lived among the Cherokee population already established in the area, but by 1838 all of the Cherokee had been forced westward to Oklahoma in the U.S. government relocation movement known as the Trail of Tears. Early settler Lewis W. Reinhardt established a church in 1834 in the settlement known as Reinhardt Chapel and befriended many of the native Cherokee population. Georgia Gwinnett College (Georgia Gwinnett or GGC) is a public college in Lawrenceville, Georgia. It is a member of the University System of Georgia. Micah Burton Owings (born September 28, 1982) is an American former professional baseball player who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres between 2007 and 2012. During his career, Owings was used as a pitcher and an occasional pinch-hitter; he also played outfielder in the minor leagues. Golden Park
Golden Park is a 3,500-seat baseball stadium in Columbus, Georgia, United States, that opened in 1926 and has undergone many rebuilds and repairs. Baseball has been played near Golden Park since 1909, butin 1926, the current location has been used. In 1951, the park was significantly rebuilt, then in 1995 for the 96' Olympics. The park was damaged in 2006 causing part of the outfield wall to collapse and then strong winds (tornado) hit the stadium in 2012 and knocked the light stands off the roof, causing more damage.
