Sunanda Kumariratana ( th, สุนันทากุมารีรัตน์, , ; 10 November 1860 – 31 May 1880) was a queen consort of Siam. She was well known as "''The Wrecked Queen''". Background She was a daughter and fiftieth child of Siamese King Mongkut (Rama IV) and Princess Consort Piam. She was the half-sister and first wife of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) of Siam (now Thailand). The kings's other two wives were her younger sisters, Queen Savang Vadhana and Queen Saovabha Bhongsi. Kala Keerthi Sunanda Mahendra De Mel (born 28 January 1938) ( si, සුනන්ද මහේන්ද්ර), popularly known as Sunanda Mahendra, is an author, theater director, poet and Sinhala Radio Play writer in Sri Lanka. Currently, he is a regular contributor to the Sinhala and English Press in Sri Lanka. Personal life Mahendra was born on 28 January 1938 in Piliyandala as the third of the family with five siblings. His father Martin Henry De Melwas was a Public Health Inspector by profession. His mother, Lilliat Magaret Waidyaratne was a housewife. His younger brother died in younger age. Sunanda Nair is an Indian dancer trained in Mohiniattam. She did her master's degree in this dance form from Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya affiliated to the University of Mumbai. She has completed her PhD from University of Mumbai for her thesis "Intrinsic Lyrical Feminism in Mohiniattam" . She was born in Mumbai, India. Sunanda Patnaik
Sunanda Patnaik (7 November 1934 – 19 January 2020) was an Indian classical singer of Gwalior gharana from Odisha. Popularly known as "guruma", she was considered one of the grande dames of Hindustani music. She was the daughter of Odia poet Baikunthanath Patnaik. She started singing at All India Radio in Cuttack in 1948 at the age of 14. The then Odisha Governor Asaf Ali once heard her on Radio and was very impressed with her singing and she became a regular fixture at the Raj Bhavan whenever the Governor had guests. Once, President Rajendra Prasad heard her at Puri. He was very impressed with her singing and arranged her training under Pandit Vinayak Rao Pattavardhan at Pune with a scholarship. She was awarded the degree of Masters in Music by Pune School in 1956. She performed at All India Sadrang Sageet Sammelan in Calcutta in September 1957 where she received 13 gold coins. Sunanda Sikdar (born 1951) is an Indian writer and memoirist of Bengali origin. She was born after the partition of India in 1947, in the village of Digpait in East Pakistan, (now Bangladesh) from where her family migrated to Kolkata in India in the 1950s. Her award-winning memoir ''Doyamoyeer Kotha'' was published in 2008, and received enormous critical and popular acclaim. The essayist Prasanta Chakravarty wrote: :''"In Bangla literature, the greatest success story in recent times has been a post-partition memoir: ''Dayamayeer Katha'' (''Dayamayee’s Tale''), Sunanda Sikdar’s maiden work.
