Everbright Sun Hung Kai, formerly known as Sun Hung Kai Financial, is a subsidiary of Everbright Securities Company Limited that provides financial services for retail, corporate, and institutional clients. It was founded in 1969 by Fung King Hey, Kwok Tak Seng and Lee Shau Kee. The company operates under the Sun Hung Kai Financial brand and the SHK Direct and SHK Private sub-brands and has a presence in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China. Through its subsidiaries, the company had about HK$105 billion in assets under management, custody, or advice as of 30 September 2017. Fung King Hey
Fung King Hey (1922–1985), was a Hong Kong businessman. He was born in Guangzhou, mainland China. He is the co-founder of Hong Kong-based Sun Hung Kai & Co. and was reputed as "King of securities world" and "Godfather of the stock market". His business in Hong Kong included property development, stock-broking and banking. Fung also briefly migrated to Canada from 1967 to 1968. Early life In the late 1930s, he moved to the British Hong Kong to work in a dockyard, as well as worked as a money changer in Canton (Guangzhou city or Guangdong province). Kwok Tak Seng
Kwok Tak-seng OBE (12 March 1911 – 30 October 1990) was a Hong Kong businessman. He was the founder of Sun Hung Kai Properties, one of the major property developers in Hong Kong. Early life Kwok was born in Macau. The ancestral home of the Kwok family was located in Zhongshan, Guangdong, formerly known as Xiangshan. He emigrated to Hong Kong after World War II. Career Kwok partnered with Fung King-hey and Lee Shau-kee to establish Sun Hung Kai Enterprises, a predecessor of Sun Hung Kai Properties in 1963. Lee Shau-kee GBM (; born 7 March 1928 in Shunde, Guangdong, China) is a Hong Kong business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. He is a real estate tycoon and majority owner of Henderson Land Development, a property conglomerate with interests in property, hotels, restaurants and internet services. In 2019, aged 91, Lee stepped down as chairman and managing director of the company, in favour of two of his sons, Peter and Martin Lee. He retains a role as an executive director. His personal wealth is estimated to be US$33.0 billion as of July 2021, making him the second wealthiest man in Hong Kong (behind Li Ka-shing), and the 43rd richest in the world.
