Summer Snow (TV Series)
''Summer Snow'' is a Japanese television drama that was broadcast from July 7 to September 15, 2000, on Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, TBS. It is a love story between a young man who has been forced to grow up too quickly, and a young woman with an activity-restricting ailment. The title refers to marine snow, which the two promise to see together one day. The series comprises eleven episodes. Summary Natsuo (Domoto Tsuyoshi) has been looking after his younger brother Jun and sister Chika since the death of their parents. He has also been running the family bicycle shop. Yuki (Ryōko Hirosue, Hirosue Ryōko) becomes the only person in the world in whom he can confide. For Yuki, Natsuo becomes the catalyst that has her trying to break out of her cocoon. ''Summer Snow'' (, also known as ''Woman, Forty'') is a 1995 Hong Kong comedy-drama film directed by Ann Hui. It stars Josephine Siao and Roy Chiao in leading roles. The film was selected as the Hong Kong entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 68th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. Overview The film's Chinese title literally translates to Woman, 40. Its alternative titles are Loey Yen Sei Seup, or Nuiyan, Seisap. Plot ''Summer Snow'' tells the story of the relationship between a widower with Alzheimer's disease and his daughter-in-law, May Sun, who is a housewife in her forties trying cope with the upheavals in her family. ''Summer Snow'' is an album by bassist William Parker and drummer Hamid Drake, which was recorded in 2005 and released on the AUM Fidelity label. The album is the second volume of duets by the pair following ''Piercing the Veil'' (2001). Reception In his review for AllMusic, Michael G. Nastos said "The album works as a whole and should be listened to all the way through for maximum enjoyment. All of our natural and otherworldly elements are at the duo's command, whether they be ethnic music sources from Asia, Africa, greater Europe, the Middle East, or the heartland of the U.S.A. The ''A–Z Series'' is a series of singles by alternative rock band Ash. Consisting of 26 singles, each represented by a letter of the alphabet, the singles were first released on a fortnightly basis from 12 October 2009 until 27 September 2010 on 7" vinyl and through digital download. Along with the 26 ''primary singles'' the series also includes 21 B-sides, 13 remixes, 7 acoustic tracks and 2 live tracks which were sporadically released in various formats. The series was later released in various other formats, including two compilation CDs ''Volume 1'' (singles A–M) released on 19 April 2010 and ''Volume 2'' (singles N–Z) released on 11 October 2010, a compilation of all 26 tracks on three vinyl LPs was released on 6 November 2012 through Noyes Records and finally a compact cassette featuring 15 of the band's favourite tracks from the series was released for Cassette Store Day, titled ''Letters from Alphabet City''.
