Summer Is Over (film)
''Summer Is Over'' (russian: Пропало лето, Propalo leto) is a 1963 Soviet comedy film directed by Nikita Orlov and Rolan Bykov. Plot Sportsman-cyclist, jack of all trades Valera Bulyshev and dumbass Zheka Ruchkin are Muscovites and bosom friends. Their parents send them on summer vacations to the small town Kurepka to visit Valery's three aunts, who have never seen their nephew before. Valery does not want to spend the whole summer with his old, boring, as he believes, aunts, and tries to get a job on an expedition to a random travel companion. Zheka has to go to his aunts and pretend to be their nephew, although they are the complete opposite of each other. But the expedition turns out to be an ordinary carriage of goods along the river, and Valery is forced to return to Kurepka too. However, on the way to the house, Valery, not knowing his aunts by sight, manages to come into conflict with all of them. And now he is forced to hide in the attic of the aunts' house ... Rolan Antonovich Bykov (russian: Ролан Антонович Быков; October 12, 1929 – October 6, 1998) was a Soviet and Russian stage and film actor, director, screenwriter and pedagogue. People's Artist of the USSR (1990). Early life Rolan Bykov was born to Anton Mikhailovich Bykov and Olga Matveyevna Bykova (née Sitnyakovskaya), the youngest of two brothers. There are many myths surrounding his biography, including the names of Rolan and his parents, date and place of birth. Pavel Pavlenko
Pavel Pavlovich Pavlenko (russian: Павел Павлович Павленко) (20 September 1902 – 9 March 1993) was a Soviet stage and film actor. Life Born in Kiev, he later moved to Moscow and graduated in 1919 from the Moscow City Theatrical School named for Anatoly Lunacharsky. He tried to join the Moscow Operetta, but was rejected by Grigory Yaron, who said, "We do not need a second Yaron!" He debuted on the stage in 1920. He worked in the Moscow Ukrainian Theater, in the Children's Theater, and elsewhere. During the Great Patriotic War, he played in the Mossovet Theatre. After the war, he appeared more frequently in films, and was a favorite of Aleksandr Rou. His film career came to an end in the late seventies. He died in obscurity in Moscow in 1993. Sergey Nikolayevich Filippov (russian: Сергей Николаевич Филиппов, 24 June 1912— 19 April 1990) was a Soviet and Russian film and stage actor and comedian, best known for his parts in films ''Adventures of Korzinkina'' (1941), ''The Night Patrol'' (1957) and the adaptation of Ilf and Petrov's classic ''The Twelve Chairs'' (1971), which granted him the People's Artist of the RSFSR title in 1974.
