Summa Cum Laude Festival
The Summa Cum Laude Festival is an international youth music festival for choirs, bands and orchestras, held annually in Vienna, Austria during July. It takes place in the city's two main classical concert venues, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein and the Konzerthaus. The Festival was established in 2007, hosted by VIA MUSICA (Vienna International Association for Music and Culture Exchange). The following year in 2008, the Summa Cum Laude Festival expanded to include both the Summa Cum Laude Competition as well as the Summa Cum Laude Celebration. Augarten
The Augarten is a public park of 52.2 hectares (129 acres) situated in the Leopoldstadt, the second district of Vienna, Austria. It contains the city's oldest Baroque park. In the north-west and north-east it borders (since 1900) on the 20th district, Brigittenau, in the north-east also on the former Nordwestbahnhof, from where the North Western Railway made its way to Bohemia, while to the south it faces the so-called '' Karmeliterviertel'' ("Carmelite quarter"), the historical Jewish quarter, followed by the Leopoldstadt. Until 1870 (Vienna Danube regulation), the areas north and east of the Augarten were floodlands mostly uninhabited. The Haus der Musik (''House of Music'') in Vienna opened in 2000, and is the first museum of sound and music in Austria. Vienna Boys' Choir
The Vienna Boys' Choir (german: Wiener Sängerknaben) is a choir of boy sopranos and altos based in Vienna, Austria. It is one of the best known boys' choirs in the world. The boys are selected mainly from Austria, but also from many other countries. The choir is a private, non-profit organization. There are approximately 100 choristers between the ages of nine and fourteen. The boys are divided into four touring choirs, named after Austrian composers Bruckner, Haydn, Mozart and Schubert, which combined perform about 300 concerts each year before almost 500,000 people.
