Sultan Badlishah Of Kedah
Sultan Sir Badlishah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah (17 March 1894 – 13 July 1958) was the 27th Sultan of Kedah, a present Malaysian state, between 1943 and 1958. He succeeded the throne upon the death of his father, Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah. He was the elder half brother of the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman. Sultan Badlishah also served as regent of Kedah between 1937 and 1943. In 1943, he was deposed by the Imperial Japanese Army, but was reinstated following their surrender and the end of the Japanese occupation of Malaya in 1945. Family Sultan Badlishah was married twice. His first marriage was to Tunku Sofiah binti Almarhum Tunku Mahmud (born 1899) in 1922. The marriage produced an heir, who was the fifth and fourteenth King of Malaysia and the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah. The Kedah Sultanate (كسلطانن قدح) is a Muslim dynasty located in the Malay Peninsula. It was originally an independent state, but became a British protectorate in 1909. Its monarchy was abolished after it was added to the Malayan Union but was restored and added to the Malayan Union's successor, the Federation of Malaya. The information regarding the formation of this sultanate and the history before and after its creation comes from the " Kedah Annals". The annals were written in the 18th century, over a millennium after the formation of the supposed Kedah Kingdom. It describes the first king of Kedah as arriving on the shores of Kedah as a result of an attack by a mythical gigantic beast. Tengku Jonaris Badlishah
In the early morning hours of 20 April 1998, in Marina South, Central, Singapore, a 23-year-old Malaysian named Jonaris Badlishah, who was the nephew of the Sultan of Kedah, brutally murdered 42-year-old beautician Sally Poh Bee Eng in order to rob her of her Rolex watch, which he wanted to give to his girlfriend as a birthday present. He was said to have used a hammer to hit her on the head more than ten times before robbing her, leading to Poh to die from her skull fractures. Following police investigations, Jonaris was arrested three days later and charged with murder. In his trial, Jonaris pled the murder charge with a defence of diminished responsibility, claiming that he was depressed, intoxicated with drugs and heard voices telling him to kill the victim. The psychiatric experts from the prosecution, however, assessed him and found him to be normal and not suffering from any abnormality of the mind when he killed Poh. The Bendahara dynasty ( ms, Wangsa Bendahara, Jawi:) is the current ruling dynasty of Pahang Sultanate, a constituent state of Malaysia. The royal house were of noble origin, holding the hereditary position of ''Bendahara'' (the highest rank in Malay nobility) in the courts of Singapura, Melaka and Old Johor since at least from the end of the 13th century.
