Sulejman Pitarka (1924–2007) was an Albanian actor, writer, and playwright originally from Debar. His family moved to Durrës, Albania, when he was five. His brother was Bashkim Pitarka, who became an Albanian diplomat. Sulejman Pasha Mosque
The Old Mosque ( sq, Xhamia e Vjetër) or Sulejman Pasha mosque ( sq, Xhamia e Sulejman Pashës) was the founding mosque of the Albanian capital Tirana. The city developed around the mosque, which was founded by the Ottoman Albanian Pasha Sulejman Bargjini along with a hamam and a bakery. In the mid of the 20th century, all of it have been razed to make place for the Communist-era Unknown Soldier statue. History Built in 1614, it was the oldest mosque of the city of Tirana and was one of the oldest mosques in Albania. The Ottoman general and ethnic Albanian, Sulejman Bargjini had fought for the Ottomans against the Safavids in Persia (Iran). Because of its beautiful minaret and its frescoe paintings, the Old Mosque stood in rivalry with the Et'hem Bey Mosque founded by Sulejman Bargjini's descendant Molla Bey of Petrela in 1793 and finished by his son Haxhi Etëhem Bey Mollaj. Sulejman Pasha Tomb
The Sulejman Pasha Tomb () was the tomb of the Ottoman general of Albanian origin named Sulejman Bargjini. The tomb was ruined in November 1944 together with the Sulejman Pasha Mosque, and subsequently destroyed by the communist government. The monument of the " Unknown Soldier" ( sq, Ushtari i panjohur) was built later upon their former location. It stood next to the Sylejman Pasha Mosque and is not to be confused with the Kapllan Pasha Tomb which was in the same neighborhood graveyard and still exists today. Sulejman Zalla
Sulejman Zalla (1892–1966) was an Albanian teacher, patriot and activist of the Rilindja Kombëtare of the early 20th century. He was the founder of the first modern Albanian school in the County of Durrës. Biography Originally from the city of Krujë, where he was born in 1892, Sulejman Zalla pursued elementary studies in his home city and later pursued a degree in the ''Shkolla Normale'' of Shkodër in order to become an Albanian teacher. On 4 March 1913, in Ishëm, Zalla opened the first school in the County of Durrës (which at that time included the cities of Tirana, Krujë, Durrës and Kavajë). As recorded by contemporary sources, the opening of the school was met with opposition from the local authorities, which saw the teaching of Albanian in the Latin alphabet as a heresy, given the Muslim dominant culture of the area. Sulejman Vokshi
Sulejman Vokshi (1815 - 1890), also known as Sul Vokshi, was an Albanian military commander and a leader of the League of Prizren. As a member of the central committee of the league, particularly as the head of the finances commission, Vokshi was also an important leader of the organization's military branch and an officer of its military staff. Life Sulejman Vokshi was born in Gjakova to a patriotic Albanian family from Voksh in Kosovo. He participated in the Albanian Revolt of 1843-1844 against the Tanzimat reforms. For his participation, he was interned in Anatolia. In 1878, he was one of the orchestrators of the attack against Ottoman marshal Mehmed Ali Pasha, an event that marked the first military action of the league. Sulejman Ugljanin (; sr-cyrl, Сулејман Угљанин; born 20 November 1953) is a Serbian politician. An ethnic Bosniak, he has led the Party of Democratic Action of Sandžak since its establishment in 1990. Ugljanin was previously the president of the Bosniak National Council and a deputy in the National Assembly. He was the Mayor of Novi Pazar, and the former Minister without portfolio in the Government of Serbia between 2008 and 2014. Ugljanin holds a doctoral degree in stomatology from the University of Sarajevo. He is married and has four children. Sulejman Tihić (26 November 1951 – 25 September 2014) was a Bosnian politician who served as the 4th Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2006. He was a member and later president of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA). From 2007 until his death in 2014, Tihić served as member of the national House of Peoples. Born in Bosanski Šamac, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Sarajevo in 1975. Following his graduation, Tihić worked as a judge, prosecutor and a lawyer. Sulejman Starova (born 12 December 1955) is an Albanian football coach and retired player. Managerial career As a manager, he has been in charge of his previous club Partizani Tirana as well as KF Tirana, Besa Kavajë and Teuta Durrës. He has also been technical director of Partizani, Teuta and FK Kukësi. On 10 February 2014 he was named as the manager of FK Kukësi following the departure of Naci Şensoy. Sulejman Smajić (born 13 August 1984) is a Bosnian retired professional footballer and sporting director of First League of FBiH club NK Metalleghe-BSI. As a player, he also played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U21 national team and the Bosnia and Herzegovina full national team. Club career Smajić was a very creative midfielder whose career began in NK Iskra Bugojno, there he was spotted by HŠK Zrinjski Mostar who he joined in 2001. Sulejman "Sula" Rebac (29 March 1929 – 17 November 2006) was a Bosnian footballer and manager. Playing career Club He started playing football at FK Velež Mostar in 1947. In 1954, he moved to HNK Hajduk Split where he stayed for several seasons. He also played one season for FK Sarajevo. In total, he played more than 1000 games, scoring 620 goals. He is considered to be one of the most celebrated football players in history of Velež and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
