Sulejman is the Bosnian and Albanian variant of Suleiman (Arabic language, Arabic ) as a given name and surname. It means "man of peace". Sulejman Tihić
Sulejman Tihić (26 November 1951 – 25 September 2014) was a Bosnian politician who served as the 4th Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2006. He was a member and later president of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA). From 2007 until his death in 2014, Tihić served as member of the national House of Peoples. Born in Bosanski Šamac, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Sarajevo in 1975. Following his graduation, Tihić worked as a judge, prosecutor and a lawyer. During the Bosnian War of 1992–95, he was captured by Serb soldiers and was tortured in concentration camps in both Bosnia and Serbia. Following the war, Tihić entered into politics. Already being a founding member of the SDA, he was named its president in 2001. Sulejman Krpić (born 1 January 1991) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Bosnian Premier League club Željezničar. He also played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Sulejman Kupusović
Sulejman Kupusović (7 April 1951 – 15 August 2014) was a Bosnian theater director. Also, he directed some television films and series. In 1974, Kupusović received a diploma from the Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Zagreb, as a director of theater, film and television. He later studied philosophy and comparative literature at the University of Zagreb. He directed in theaters across the former Yugoslavia, as well as the first Bosnian opera, ''Hasanaginica'', which premiered in Sarajevo on 18 March 2000. In addition to theater performances, he has directed several TV films, dramas and sitcoms. He directed the award-winning 2011 theater play '' Krokodil Lacoste'' written by Zlatko Topčić, in Chamber Theater 55. Kupusović died aged 63 in the Bosnian capital city after a long illness. Sulejman bey Delvina, also known as ''Sylejman Fehmi'' (5 October 1871 – 1 August 1932), was an Albanian politician and prime minister from March to November 1920. Biography Early life Sulejman Delvina was born on 5 October 1871 in the city of the same name, Delvinë, then Ottoman Empire. His father Selim bey came from a family of high status in the area which is evidenced by the honorific title ''Bey'' that Sulejman himself, his father Selim and his brother Namik held. He studied in the ''rüşdiye'' (Middle school) at the Zosimaia School in Ioannina, while completed his university studies at the Mekteb-i Mülkiye for Public Administration in Istanbul, from where he graduated in the class of 1899. Sulejman Pasha Mosque
The Old Mosque ( sq, Xhamia e Vjetër) or Sulejman Pasha mosque ( sq, Xhamia e Sulejman Pashës) was the founding mosque of the Albanian capital Tirana. The city developed around the mosque, which was founded by the Ottoman Albanian Pasha Sulejman Bargjini along with a hamam and a bakery. In the mid of the 20th century, all of it have been razed to make place for the Communist-era Unknown Soldier statue. History Built in 1614, it was the oldest mosque of the city of Tirana and was one of the oldest mosques in Albania. The Ottoman general and ethnic Albanian, Sulejman Bargjini had fought for the Ottomans against the Safavids in Persia (Iran). Sulejman Pačariz
Hafiz Sulejman Pačariz (1900 — 1945) was an Islamic cleric of Albanian origin and commander of the detachment of Muslim militia from the village of Hisardžik (Prijepolje, modern-day Serbia) during the Second World War. When Germans took over control over Sandžak in 1943 Pačariz was appointed as commander of SS Polizei-Selbstschutz-Regiment Sandschak. Forces under his command were referred to as ''Pačarizovci'' (meaning "those belonging to Pačariz"). He allegedly led his forces while riding a black horse. Sulejman Starova (born 12 December 1955) is an Albanian football coach and retired player. Managerial career As a manager, he has been in charge of his previous club Partizani Tirana as well as KF Tirana, Besa Kavajë and Teuta Durrës. He has also been technical director of Partizani, Teuta and FK Kukësi. On 10 February 2014 he was named as the manager of FK Kukësi following the departure of Naci Şensoy. Sulejman Zalla (1892–1966) was an Albanian teacher, patriot and activist of the Rilindja Kombëtare of the early 20th century. He was the founder of the first modern Albanian school in the County of Durrës. Biography Originally from the city of Krujë, where he was born in 1892, Sulejman Zalla pursued elementary studies in his home city and later pursued a degree in the ''Shkolla Normale'' of Shkodër in order to become an Albanian teacher. On 4 March 1913, in Ishëm, Zalla opened the first school in the County of Durrës (which at that time included the cities of Tirana, Krujë, Durrës and Kavajë). As recorded by contemporary sources, the opening of the school was met with opposition from the local authorities, which saw the teaching of Albanian in the Latin alphabet as a heresy, given the Muslim dominant culture of the area. Sulejman Vokshi
Sulejman Vokshi (1815 - 1890), also known as Sul Vokshi, was an Albanian military commander and a leader of the League of Prizren. As a member of the central committee of the league, particularly as the head of the finances commission, Vokshi was also an important leader of the organization's military branch and an officer of its military staff. Life Sulejman Vokshi was born in Gjakova to a patriotic Albanian family from Voksh in Kosovo. He participated in the Albanian Revolt of 1843-1844 against the Tanzimat reforms. Sulejman Pitarka (1924–2007) was an Albanian actor, writer, and playwright originally from Debar. His family moved to Durrës, Albania, when he was five.
