Sugar Ray Marimón
Sugar Ray Marimón (born September 30, 1988) is a Colombian former professional baseball pitcher. He has played for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the KT Wiz of the KBO League. Career Kansas City Royals Marimón signed with Kansas City Royals' scout Mike Toomey for approximately $25,000 and played in the organization from 2007 to 2014. Atlanta Braves Prior to the 2015 season he signed a minor league deal with the Atlanta Braves. Marimón was invited to spring training, but did not make the opening day roster. Marimón was called up to the majors for the first time on April 13, 2015. He debuted the next day, throwing four innings against the Miami Marlins in relief of Trevor Cahill. Omaha Storm Chasers
The Omaha Storm Chasers are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. They are located in Papillion, Nebraska, a suburb southwest of Omaha, and play their home games at Werner Park, which opened in 2011. The team previously played at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium from 1969 to 2010. Omaha has been the only Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals since their inception in the 1969 Major League Baseball expansion. They were originally known as the Omaha Royals when established as a member of the Triple-A American Association in 1969. They joined the Pacific Coast League (PCL) in 1998 and were briefly known as the Omaha Golden Spikes (1999–2001) before reverting to their Royals moniker. Omaha became the Storm Chasers in 2011. 2017 World Baseball Classic
The 2017 World Baseball Classic (WBC) was an international professional baseball competition, composed of 16 competing nations, held from March 6 to March 22, 2017. It was the fourth iteration of the World Baseball Classic. The first-round hosts were Seoul, Tokyo, Miami, and Zapopan. The second-round hosts were Tokyo and San Diego, and the championship round was played in Los Angeles. Twelve of the 16 competing nations qualified based on their performance during the first round of the 2013 tournament; the remaining four nations were the winners of four qualification tournaments that took place in February, March, and September 2016. Two of the four qualifiers, Colombia and Israel, made their first appearance in the WBC, and both have secured their positions for the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
