SugaRush Beat Company
SugaRush Beat Company is a musical group consisting of singers Rahsaan Patterson and Ida Corr. The band formed in 2005, when Patterson was touring in Australia to promote his third album ''After Hours (Rahsaan Patterson album), After Hours''. While staying in Melbourne he met Rogers, when he booked his studio. Following their first sessions they then spent the next couple of months jetting back and forth between Los Angeles and Australia, writing songs together, until the addition of Danish soul singer Ida Corr. In November 2007, they released their first record, ''SugaRush Beat Company EP'' through the UK-label RCA Records, RCA. In February 2008 they appeared on Later With Jools Holland, where they performed their songs ''L-O-V-E'' and ''They Said I Said''. A release of the single ''Gunshots 'n Candyfloss'' followed soon after in March 2008. Michael Franti (born April 21, 1966) is an American rapper, musician, poet, activist, documentarian, and singer-songwriter, known for his participation in many musical projects, most with a political and social emphasis, including the Beatnigs and the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. After Hours is the third studio album by American neo-soul artist Rahsaan Patterson, released on October 26, 2004, under Artistry Music. The album is his first independent release on the record label. The album debuted at #65 on ''Billboard's'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In 2003, he released the song "The One for Me", which originally appeared on the 2002 Steve Harvey compilation album ''Sign of Things to Come: Steve's Pick of the Year''. The singles "April's Kiss," "So Hot," and "Forever Yours" received heavy rotation airplay on radio, but failed to chart on Billboards singles chart.
