Sue Charles
Sue Charles is a Welsh TV and weather presenter for BBC Wales. Sue presents the morning and weekend weather broadcasts for ''Wales Today,'' as well as acting as a relief weather presenter for meteorologist Derek Brockway. Born and educated in Llandrindod Wells, Powys, she took a holiday job with Radio Wyvern. She started out on the youth programme "Street Cred," and ended up producing and later as a stand-in Christmas news presenter. Moving to BBC Radio 1, she became a music reporter, before moving to BBC Radio 2 in 1991, and then to BBC Radio Wales as a journalist. In 1998 Charles made the move to television as a presenter on Wales Today. The Welsh ( cy, Cymry) are an ethnic group native to Wales. "Welsh people" applies to those who were born in Wales ( cy, Cymru) and to those who have Welsh ancestry, perceiving themselves or being perceived as sharing a cultural heritage and shared ancestral origins. Behnaz Akhgar
Behnaz Akhgar ( fa, بهناز اخگر; born 21 June 1980 ) is an Iranian- Welsh weather presenter currently working for BBC's Wales Today. She broadcasts the morning and weekend bulletins with Sue Charles, and acts as a relief presenter for meteorologist Derek Brockway. Behnaz, often called Benni, is from a Persian-Welsh background; her first language is Persian. She entered the Miss Wales pageant in 1998. Early life Akhgar was born in Shiraz, Iran. When she arrived in Britain she spoke no English. She moved to Swansea when she was 10 years old, attended Terrace Road School, then Dynevor Comprehensive School (where coincidentally her parents opened a shop around the corner from there named "Dagwood's") and has lived in Wales since. She attended the University of Glamorgan where she gained a BA in communication studies, followed by a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism at Cardiff University. BBC Radio Wales is a Welsh radio station owned and operated by BBC Cymru Wales, a division of the BBC. It began broadcasting on 13 November 1978, replacing the 'Radio 4 Wales' opt-out service (previously the Welsh Home Service).
