Sudip Datta Bhaumik
Sudip Datta Bhaumik (died 21 November 2017) was a journalist killed in the north-eastern state of Tripura in India by a police officer of the Tripura State Rifles during an altercation. Sudip was a reporter for the Bengali language newspaper '' Syandan Patrika'' and the local television channel News Vanguard. The Tripura chief minister, Manik Sarkar, and the union home minister of state, Kiren Rijiju, condemned the killing. Tripura (, Bengali: ) is a state in Northeast India. The third-smallest state in the country, it covers ; and the seventh-least populous state with a population of 36.71 lakh ( 3.67 million). Manik Sarkar
Manik Sarkar is an Indian communist politician who served as the Chief Minister of Tripura from March 1998 to March 2018. He is a Politburo Member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). In March 2008, he was sworn in as leader of Left Front (Tripura), Left Front, the Tripura coalition government. Kiren Rijiju (born 19 November 1971) is an Indian politician from Arunachal Pradesh who serves as the Cabinet Minister of Law and Justice in the Government of India. Early life Rijiju was born on 19 November 1971 at Nakhu near Nafra in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh in India. He is the son of Rinchin Kharu and Chirai Rijiju. Santanu Bhowmik
Santanu Bhowmik (12 January 1989–20 September 2017) was a journalist murdered in the North-eastern state of Tripura in India while covering the ''raasta roko'' (road blockade) by Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT). Santanu worked for Channel Dinraat television station and was covering a clash at Mandai between the indigenous wing of the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) and IPFT activists in which Bhowmik was suddenly attacked with sharp weapons. He was later found with multiple stab injuries and died before he could be taken to a hospital. Police arrested four members of the IPFT in connection with the murder. Santanu's father Sadhan Bhowmik has demanded that Central Bureau of Investigation probe the death.
