A subway, also known as an underpass, is a grade-separated pedestrian crossing which crosses underneath a road or railway in order to entirely separate pedestrians and cyclists from motor traffic or trains respectively. Terminology In the United States, as used by the California Department of Transportation and in parts of Pennsylvania such as Harrisburg, Duncannon and Wyoming County, subway refers to a depressed road undercrossing. Subway (George Bush Intercontinental Airport)
The Subway (formerly known as the inter-terminal train) is the older of the two separate inter-terminal people movers operating at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, Texas. Opened in 1969 along with the airport, the train system was replaced in 1981 with the current WEDway system, built by WED Transportation Systems, a division of what is now known as Walt Disney Imagineering. The Subway serves approximately 240,000 passengers per month, for a yearly ridership averaging 2.9 million. It is built underground and serves landside traffic, unlike the newer Skyway, which is elevated and operates airside. Subway was an American contemporary R&B group, which featured Keith Thomas and his brother Trerail Puckett, and their close friends, Eric McNeal and Roy Jones. "Subways" is a song by Australian electronic music group the Avalanches. The song was released as the third single from their second studio album, ''Wildflower'' (2016), on 22 June 2016. The song rose to number 81 on the Australian ARIA Charts. Composition "Subways" has been described as a disco-funk song. Like the other tracks on ''Wildflower'', it is a mainly sample-based track, which samples "Warm Ride" by the Bee Gees, performed by Graham Bonnet, as well as "Black Water" by Patrick Simmons.
