Subrayado
Subrayado is the news program of the Uruguayan Channel 10. It airs from Monday to Friday at three different times, in addition to a broadcast on Sundays and holidays. It is presented by Blanca Rodríguez. The first broadcast of ''Subrayado'' was in 1971 under the leadership of the journalist Omar Defeo, being its director until 1989. It is currently the most watched newscast in Uruguay. It has also been accoladed with the ''Iris Award'' for best newscast on several occasions. Iris Award (Uruguay)
The Iris Awards ( es, Premios Iris), created by the newspaper ''El País'', are given for achievements in Uruguayan radio, television and social networks. History The first edition of the awards was in 1983, although they were not given again until 1995. Since then they have been delivered annually. There are more than 30 categories, among which the Golden Iris ( es, Premio Iris de Oro) is most prominent. The awards are given by the newspaper ''El País'' and disseminated by its entertainment supplement ''Sábado Show''. The trophy's shape is based on a human figure holding an eye with a square iris. Depending on the profession of the person who won it, a different silhouette appears under the figure's feet – a film reel, musical note, etc. Since 2010, the ceremony has been broadcast live on television throughout Uruguay. Channel 10 (legally known as SAETA TV Canal 10) is a Uruguayan free-to-air television channel based in Montevideo, founded in 1956 by Raul Fontaina as the first TV broadcaster in the country and the fourth in Latin America. SAETA ("Arrow") is a backronym for "Anonymous Society of Television Broadcasting and Appendants" (''Sociedad Anónima Emisora de Televisión y Anexos''). Uruguay (; ), officially the Oriental Republic of Uruguay ( es, República Oriental del Uruguay), is a country in South America. Academia Nacional De Letras
The Academia Nacional de Letras (English: "National Academy of Letters") is an association of academics and experts on the use of the Spanish language in Uruguay. It was founded in Montevideo on February 10, 1943. Among the first members were Cardinal Antonio María Barbieri, Emilio Frugoni, Juana de Ibarbourou, Emilio Oribe, Alberto Zum Felde. Since 1960, it is a member of the Association of Spanish Language Academies.
