Tunisia is divided into 24 governorate, governorates (''wilayat'', sing. ''wilayah''). This term in Arabic can also be translated as province or federated state (though the latter does not apply, as Tunisia is a unitary state). The governorates are divided into 264 Delegations of Tunisia, delegations (''mutamadiyat''), and further subdivided into municipality, municipalities (''baladiyat''), and sectors (''imadats''). Tunisia is divided into 6 regions. It is mostly temperate near the capital Tunis, but becomes more arid in the southern regions due to the Saharan Desert. Béja ( ar, باجة ') is a city in Tunisia. It is the capital of the Béja Governorate. It is located from Tunis, between the Medjerdah River and the Mediterranean, against the foothills of the Khroumire, the town of Béja is situated on the sides of Djebel Acheb, facing the greening meadows, its white terraces and red roofs dominated by the imposing ruins of the old Roman Empire, Roman fortress. Hammam Chott
Hammam Chott is a town and commune in the Ben Arous Governorate, Tunisia. It is located 20 kilometers from the capital, Tunis, in the southern suburbs. It is a seaside resort town. The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) had its headquarters in Hammam Chott before an Israeli bombing attack in 1985. On 1 October 1985, the PLO headquarters in Hammam Chott was bombed and destroyed by the Israeli Air Force in Operation Wooden Leg. Origin of name Chott in Arabic means "beach" which is appropriate due to Hammam Chott's location on the Gulf of Tunis. Ezzahra
Ezzahra (الزهراء) is a coastal town on the outskirts of Tunis located south of the capital. Ezzahra is bounded by the Mediterranean Sea and the municipalities of Rades, Hammam Lif and Boumhel EL-Bassatine. Administratively attached to the governorate of Ben Arous, it is the seat of a delegation and a municipality of 31,792 inhabitants (in 2014) while the city itself has a population of 6000 inhabitants. Other cities there are agglomerated (cité El Habib, 18 January and Borj El-Louzir). El Mourouj ( ar, المروج, al-Murūj) is a town and commune in the southern suburbs of Tunis in the Ben Arous Governorate, Tunisia. It became a commune in 1991. Ben Arous ( aeb, بن عروس ') is a city in north-eastern Tunisia, part the agglomeration of Tunis, also called "Grand Tunis". It is located south of Tunis city center and is the capital of the Ben Arous Governorate. Information about Ben Arous East Ben Arous is on the Sidi Fathallah Plain, and is named after Muslim saint Sidi Ben Arous who died in 1444. Testour ( ar, تستور ') is a small town located in the north of Tunisia. The town is perched on the hills of Medjerda Valley, south-west of Medjez-el-Bab, the crossroads between Tunis, Béja, and the north of Tunisia. It was known during the Roman period, as Tichilla, which means the ''green grass'' as it is situated in the mouth of Siliana valley.
