''Sub Pop 1000'' is a compilation album released by Sub Pop. The album was limited, one-time release of 5,000 colored 12-inch vinyl records with cover art by Nathan Fox and will also include a 16-page booklet and MP3 download coupon. The record's release date coincides with Record Store Day on April 20, 2013, but is not a Record Store Day exclusive. The title references the 1986 compilation ''Sub Pop 100'' and features previously unreleased songs by up-and-coming artists on the Sub Pop label. Sub Pop is a record label founded in 1986 by Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman. Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 and held on one Saturday (typically the third) every April and every Black Friday in November to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". Protomartyr (band)
Protomartyr is an American rock band formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 2010. The band consists of Joe Casey (vocals), Greg Ahee (guitar), Alex Leonard (drums), and Scott Davidson (bass). In 2020, Kelley Deal joined the band in a touring capacity, providing additional keyboards, guitar and backing vocals. Iron Lung are an American hardcore punk duo based in Seattle, Washington, United States. The band formed in 1999 in Reno, Nevada, and is currently in Seattle, after spending some time in Oakland, California. Peaking Lights
Peaking Lights are a husband-and-wife music duo who met in San Francisco in 2006 and moved to Spring Green, Wisconsin in December 2007 where they lived until 2009. The couple then moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where they stayed until their return to the West Coast in 2011 to live in Los Angeles. Currently they are based in Amsterdam. Peaking Lights' music has been described as psychedelic pop. MY DISCO (stylised in capitals) is an Australian music group formed in 2003. It contains members from Agents of Abhorrence and Clann Zú.
