Amílcar Leonel Suazo is a retired Honduran association football forward who played professionally in Honduras and the United States. From 1982 to 1988, Suazo played for F.C. Motagua. Roberto Suazo Córdova (17 March 1927 – 22 December 2018) was the President of Honduras from 1982 until 1986. Suazo Córdova died on 22 December 2018 following an ulcer surgical operation at the age of 91. Nicolás Suazo Velásquez (born 9 January 1965 in San Pedro Sula, Cortés) is a retired Honduran footballer who played as a forward. Club career Nicknamed ''Nicogol'' because of his prolific goalscoring, Suazo played in Honduras for Independiente, Marathón and Victoria, in Costa Rica for Herediano alongside compatriot Danilo Galindo and for Comunicaciones and USAC in Guatemala. Milton José Palacios Suazo (; born December 2, 1980) is a retired Honduran footballer who played as a centre-back. Club career A tall central defender, Palacios started his career with Olimpia and also played for Victoria. After a 2003 friendly match between Olimpia and Chilean powerhouse Colo-Colo, Iván Zamorano (then a Colo-Colo player) recommended him for the Chilean club; however, both teams failed to reach an agreement despite Colo-Colo having registered the player, and Palacios remained in Olimpia. Maynor René Suazo Antunez (born 10 August 1979) is a Honduran footballer who most recently played for Atlético Choloma as an attacking midfielder. Maynor is the cousin of footballer David Suazo and retired Honduran footballer, Nicolás Suazo. Both played together at their school's football team. He is also Hendry Thomas's cousin. Julio César Suazo Bernárdez (born 5 October 1978) is a retired Honduran football defender. Club career Nicknamed ''Pungui'', Suazo came through the youth ranks at Victoria and moved to Europe in 2000 to play for SV Wüstenrot Salzburg alongside compatriots Maynor Suazo and Juan Manuel Cárcamo. Anita Louise Suazo (born May 13, 1937) is a Native American potter from Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico, United States. Background She is the daughter of Ernesto Tapia and noted potter Belen Tafoya Tapia (1914–1999). Anita's mother Belen was one of the innovators of finely crafted polychrome redwares. She was a first cousin to Margaret Tafoya. Growing up in a family of traditional potters, Anita began learning Santa Clara pottery techniques as a child from her mother. Artwork She works with her husband Joseph who helps her dig clay from the soil near Santa Clara. Her pots are made using the traditional, free hand coiling technique, polishing stones and native clays. Anita makes carved redware and blackware, polychrome redware, black melon pots and carved two-tone black on black pottery. Juanita Suazo Dubray (born 1930) also known as Juanita DuBray, is a Native American potter from Taos Pueblo, New Mexico. She is a lifelong resident of Taos Pueblo and descends from an unbroken line of Taos Pueblo natives. Her mother Tonita made traditional micaceous pottery for utilitarian use. She became interested in the micaceous pottery tradition in 1980 after a career of working as a pharmaceutical technician. She started making micaceous pottery at the age of 50 with the encouragement of a neighbor who gave her some clay. When she first started making pottery she made one-of-a-kind micaceous pots using different ancient designs and symbols. Eventually she began using more contemporary designs and symbols on her pots, making them out of both micaceous and white clay. He has spent more than ten years working in the La Mosquitia, a jungle region in north eastern Honduras. His first published work was ''Percepción y uso de la vida silvestre'' while his second book, a novel called ''Segovia'', published in 2008, and named after the river of the same name found in La Mosquitia, won the 2008 Hibuera literary prize.
