"Su canción" (; "") is a song recorded by Peruvian-Spanish singer Betty Missiego, written by Fernando Moreno. It is best known as the entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1979, held in Jerusalem. The song was internally chosen by the Spanish broadcaster, Televisión Española (TVE), as their representative in the Contest that year. Internal selection From 1977 to 1999, TVE used an internal selection process to select both the singer and the song to represent them at Eurovision. For 1979, Betty Missiego, a 34-year-old singer and television presenter from Peru who had previous song contest experience representing Peru at the OTI Festival 1972 in Madrid, was selected to go to Jerusalem with the song "Su canción", written and composed by Fernando Moreno. Spain took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1971. The country was represented by Karina with the song "En un mundo nuevo". Karina was selected through the competition ''Pasaporte a Dublín'' ("Passport to Dublin"), and the song she would sing in Dublin was internally chosen once the national final was over. The music was composed by Rafael Trabucchelli and the lyrics written by Tony Luz. María Concepción Bautista Fernández (born 27 October 1936), better known as Conchita Bautista (), is a Spanish singer and actress, best known for her participation in the Eurovision Song Contests of and . Bautista moved from her native Andalusia to Madrid in her teens and quickly established herself as an actress, appearing in a number of films in the 1950s. At the same time she was earning a reputation as an interpreter of Andalusian music and gained a recording contract with the Columbia label. In 1961, Bautista took part in the selection for Spain's debut Eurovision entry with the song "Estando contigo" ("Being with You"), which was chosen as the country's representative for the sixth Eurovision Song Contest, held in Cannes, France, on 18 March. OGAE
The (OGAE) () is a non-governmental and non-profit international organisation, consisting of 42 Eurovision Song Contest fan clubs from across Europe and beyond. It was founded in 1984 in Savonlinna, Finland by Jaripekka Koikkalainen. Four non-profit competitions are organised by the OGAE every year to promote national popular music to Eurovision fans around the world. The organisation also works frequently in co-operation with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and national broadcasters from the participating countries in order to help promote the Eurovision Song Contest.
