Mircea Stănescu
Mircea Stănescu (July 17, 1969 – January 5, 2009) was a Romanian Member of Parliament (2004–2008). Born in Bucharest, he was the son of Romanian journalist Sorin Roșca Stănescu. On December 27, 2008, he committed a car accident which resulted in the death of a pedestrian who was lawfully crossing Alexandru Șerbănescu Street in Bucharest. Nichita Stănescu
Nichita Stănescu (; born Nichita Hristea Stănescu; 31 March 1933 – 13 December 1983) was a Romanian poet and essayist. Biography Stănescu's father was Nicolae Hristea Stănescu (1908–1982). His mother, Tatiana Cereaciuchin, was Russian (originally from Voronezh, she had fled Russia and married in 1931). Nichita Stănescu graduated from the Ion Luca Caragiale High School in Ploiești, then went on to study Romanian language and literature at the University of Bucharest, graduating in 1957. He made his literary debut in the ''Tribuna'' literary magazine. Stănescu married Magdalena Petrescu in 1952, but the couple separated a year later. In 1962 he married Doina Ciurea. Raphael Andrei Stănescu (born 27 June 1993) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Bundesliga side Bayern Munich. In the past he played in the Liga I for Dinamo București and in the lower divisions for team such as Farul Constanța, Daco-Getica București, CSM Reșița or Dacia Unirea Brăila, among others. George Robert Stănescu (born 17 January 1985 in Bucharest) is a Romanian artistic gymnast who specialized in still rings. Saviana Stănescu (born 1967) is a Romanian-American award-winning playwright, ARTivist, and poet based in Ithaca, New York. Valentin Stănescu (20 November 1922 – 4 April 1994) was a Romanian football goalkeeper and manager. Club career Valentin Stănescu also known as "Tinel" or "Zimbrul" ( The bison) was born on 20 November 1922 in București, Romania and started playing junior level football at age 11 in 1933 at local club Olimpia. Giulești-Valentin Stănescu Stadium was a football stadium in Bucharest, Romania. It was the home stadium of FC Rapid București for almost 80 years. It was named after Valentin Stănescu, the coach that helped Rapid to win its first title, but was most commonly known as the "Giulești Stadium", after the name of the neighborhood in which it was located. Landmarks near the stadium include Podul Grant, Giulești Theatre and Prunaru market. Gara de Nord is not far away from the stadium and the Grivița Railway Yards are right next to it. The stadium was entirely demolished in 2019, and has been replaced with the Rapid Arena, a new all-seater stadium that opened in 2022.
