Style Network (Australian TV Channel)
Style Network (known on air as Style) was an Australian pay television channel that owned by Universal Networks International. It was a domestic version of the American Esquire Network, Style Network (which it outlasted by six years after that network was converted to the short-lived men's interest Esquire Network), and much like its American counterpart it featured fashion, design, and programming for women. It was available through the Foxtel and FetchTV (Australia), FetchTV platforms. In 2014, it became available on Australian streaming service Foxtel Play. History Style was launched on the Foxtel and Austar platforms on 15 November 2009. The channel abruptly ceased broadcasting on 17 December 2019, after Foxtel changed around their lineup and UNI decided to consolidate programming on several networks, also ending operations of 13th Street (Australian TV channel), 13th Street and Syfy (Australian TV channel), Syfy at the end of 2019. Standard-definition Television
Standard-definition television (SDTV, SD, often shortened to standard definition) is a television system which uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high or enhanced definition. "Standard" refers to it being the prevailing specification for broadcast (and later, cable) television in the mid- to late-20th century, and compatible with legacy analog broadcast systems. The two common SDTV signal types are 576i, with 576 interlaced lines of resolution, derived from the European-developed PAL and SECAM systems, and 480i based on the American NTSC system. Common SDTV refresh rates are 25, 29.97 and 30 frames per second. Both systems use a 4:3 aspect ratio. Standards that support digital SDTV broadcast include DVB, ATSC, and ISDB. Syfy (Australian TV Channel)
Syfy was an Australian pay television channel dedicated to science fiction and fantasy television shows and movies. The channel was launched on 1 January 2014, replacing SF. On 31 December 2019, it was replaced with Fox Sci-Fi. History In August 2013, it was announced that Foxtel had failed to complete negotiations with the TV1 General Entertainment Partnership (of which NBCUniversal was a part member) for a new carriage deal for their channel SF (an Australian science fiction channel), and would ultimately replace it with another science fiction dedicated channel once SF's carriage deal had expired.
