Daniel Elliot Stuntz
Daniel Elliot Stuntz (March 15, 1909 - March 5, 1983) was often called "Bud" by his family and colleagues. When Stuntz was young, his immediate and extended family moved from Ohio to Seattle. He had a sister named Alice Stuntz Marionneaux, whom he frequently visited in the later years. Stuntz's father, Chauncey Richards Stuntz, who worked in the sugarcane business, would be absent to work for most of the time. In 1920s, he was promoted as the general manager of a sugar mill, 'Jobabo' in Oriente Province in Cuba. During his father's absence, Stuntz' mother, Evelyn Elliot Stuntz, managed the family and arranged the children's summer vacations. Education Stuntz was born in Milford, Ohio, United States. Before he went to college, he studied in Queen Anne High School, Seattle. In autumn 1931, he enrolled at the University of Washington and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1935. Johann Baptist Stuntz (1753, in Arlesheim – 1836, in Munich) was a Swiss-German landscape painter and lithographer. He lived as an artist in Biel, during which time, he painted landscapes in gouache – his paintings of St. Peter's Island in Lake Biel were highly thought of. He later worked as an art dealer in Strasbourg, and from 1808 operated a lithography business in Munich. Johnno Stuntz
John "Johnno" Stuntz (1884–1917) was an Australian pioneer rugby league footballer and soldier who served in World War I and died on the Western Front. A national and state representative winger, his club career was played with Eastern Suburbs, Western Suburbs and South Sydney in Australia, as well as one season with English club, Warrington. He played for New South Wales in the very first rugby match run by the newly created 'New South Wales Rugby Football League' which had just split away from the established New South Wales Rugby Football Union. Rugby league career One of Australian rugby league's founding players, Stuntz was a member of the 1907 rebel side ("the 1907 Pioneers") that played against the New Zealand ' All Golds' in the series that helped to establish rugby league football in Australia. Stephen Conrad Stuntz
Stephen Conrad Stuntz (1875–1918) was an American botanist and fiction author. Life Graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin in 1899, Stuntz worked as an assistant at the university library and herbarium until 1902. With Laurance Charles Burke, he produced the first newsletter for the UW‑Madison libraries called ''The Library Item'' in 1900. From 1902 to 1908, he was a cataloguer with the Library of Congress, and from 1908 to 1910 he was a bibliographer with the United States Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Soils. From 1910 until his death he was a botanist with the Office of Foreign Seed and Plant Introductions. In June 1907, Stephen married Lena G. Fitzhugh. He died of pneumonia in 1918.
