Studioseven Recordings
Studioseven Recordings was a Japanese record label founded in 2006 which was a subsidiary of Sony Music Records. After its dissolution in 2010, many of its artists were moved to Sony Music Records' gr8! Records label. History The label first came to light when Sony was to release a single for singer/songwriter YUI (it should be ''Good-bye Days'' for the movie ''Midnight Sun''). It was later expanded through Kaoru Amane’s debut single (''Taiyou no Uta'' for the drama version of the movie). Since then, Studioseven Recordings is to take part in co-productions with movies. Recent history In November 2006, the label welcomed Nana-star Yuna Ito and Korean/Japanese star K (who claimed to fame with the theme song for '' 1 Litre of Tears'' drama). The label's current chief producer is Yoshio Imano. The first official release for Studioseven Recordings was the debut album of Yuna Ito, ''Heart'', which sold over 200.000 copies in its first week. Kang Yoon-sung (born November 16, 1983), better known by his stage name K, is a pop singer from South Korea under contract in Japan. He was born in Goyang. In 2004, after achieving little success with his first album in South Korea, K crossed over to Japan. His first Japanese album, ''Beyond the Sea'', has achieved a sales of over 300,000 copies. K put his musical activities on hold in 2010 so he could complete the Korean mandatory military service. Erika Sawajiri
is a Japanese former actress, singer, and model. After starting out as a junior model, Sawajiri transitioned to acting in 2002 and has starred in ''Break Through!'', ''Shinobi: Heart Under Blade'', and ''1 Litre no Namida (TV series), 1 Litre of Tears'', for all of which she received several newcomer acting awards. Maria (Japanese Band)
Maria (stylized as MARIA) was an all female Japanese pop rock band signed onto Sony Music Japan. The band consists of six members. They released their first single on March 8, 2006, titled "Chiisa na Uta". This song is used as the 3rd opening song of the anime Yakitate!! Japan. Also, their single Tsubomi is used as the theme song of Naruto the Movie 3: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom, and their single Heartbeat was used as an opening theme song of the anime Deltora Quest. In 2006 came out their first album, entitled "You Go!: We Are Maria", but their popularity really came to raise after "Tsubomi" single release. In 2008, though, Maria came out with their first DVD, featuring a live tour for the first album, and was entitled "Maria Live Tour - We Are Maria 2007", which reached the height of 30th place in Oricon parade. Hyun Jun (주현준, born January 2, 1987), better known as June, is a solo R&B singer under Sony Music Japan. He is Korean by birth, but his career consists of producing mostly Japanese music and original soundtracks for anime. His biggest contribution to Japanese music has been through his two biggest singles for the soundtracks of popular ''shōnen'' anime during the early 2000's. His first single, "Baby It's You", was used as the ninth ending theme for the anime '' Bleach''. His second single, "Pride of Tomorrow", was the second ending theme for the anime '' D.Gray-Man.'' 1 Litre No Namida (TV Series)
is a 2005 Japanese television drama for Fuji Television, based on a true story of a 15-year-old girl named Aya Kitō, who suffered from degenerative disease and died at the age of 25. The script is based on Aya's diary that she kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The diary is later entitled, '' One Litre of Tears'', which has sold over 1.1 million copies in Japan. Plot Fifteen-year-old Aya Ikeuchi is an ordinary girl, soon to be high school student and the eldest daughter of a family who works at a tofu shop. As time passes, unusual things start happening to Aya. She begins falling down often and walking strangely.
