Studio Nue
Studio Nue, Inc. ( ja, スタジオぬえ) is a Japanese design studio formed in 1972 (as Crystal Art Studio) by Naoyuki Kato, Kenichi Matsuzaki, Kazutaka Miyatake, and Haruka Takachiho. Crystal Art Studio would change their name to Studio Nue in 1974. They were known as the co-creators of the ''Macross'' franchise along with Artland (anime studio), Artland (co-production of the first series) and Big West Advertising (financial funding). Shōji Kawamori is a notable member of Studio Nue. Macross Plus
is a four-episode anime OVA and theatrical movie in the ''Macross'' series. It was the first sequel to the original ''Macross'' television series that took place in the official timeline (''Macross II'' was quickly retconned by series creator Shōji Kawamori as a parallel world story in the ''Macross'' universe). ''Plus'' was a groundbreaking combination of traditional cel and computer-generated animation at the time of its release, paving the way for the incorporation of more computer-generated imagery in Japanese animation. is an anime science fiction series. It inspired an Original Video Animation, OVA sequel series called ''Orguss 02''. ''Orguss'' was the second part of ''The Super Dimension (other), Super Dimension'' trilogy from Big West Advertising, Big West, preceded by ''The Super Dimension Fortress Macross'' and followed by ''The Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross''. is a series of Japanese light novels (the first one being a fix-up) written by Haruka Takachiho and illustrated by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko that was later adapted into anime and manga versions. The first stories that make up the first volume were first published on the ''S-F Magazine''. The franchise has been published in multiple formats, and adapted into various other media, resulting in eight novels and several shorter stories, a television series, two OVA series, two OVA features, a feature film, a number of graphic novels, and two short Japanese radio series. Crusher Joe
is a series of science fiction novels written by Haruka Takachiho and published by Asahi Sonorama from 1977 to 2005 (an additional trilogy was published between 2013 and 2016). During the late 1970s one of the founding fathers of Studio Nue, Takachiho, decided that besides being a designer he would try his hand at penning novels. The result was ''Crusher Joe'', a group of antiheroes who were not the typical self-sacrificing types but noble in their own right nonetheless. ''Crusher Joe'' was made into an animated film in 1983, two original video animation episodes in 1989, and a manga adaptation began in 2017. The film version won the ''Animage'' Anime Grand Prix prize in 1983. The film features several guest designs by Katsuhiro Otomo, Akira Toriyama, Rumiko Takahashi and Hideo Azuma. , also known as simply ''Tehcno Police'', is a 1982 Japanese mecha police anime film made by Wiz Corporation and released on 7 August 1982. It was dubbed into English by Hong Kong voice actors. The anime film's premise involves an advanced robot police squad trying to recover a hijacked prototype tank. The film is an early anime presentation for a slightly older audience, at a time when there wasn't much competition and before the clichés were established for this genre of action. The anime was made during the Cold War and so the tank was hijacked from a futuristic cargo plane and was designed to withstand a neutron bomb attack, even if its crew would be killed by that weapon, for the tank was computerized to continue to fight on its own.
