Stuben Am Arlberg
Stuben am Arlberg is a winter sports resort in the town of Klösterle in the westernmost Austrian province of Vorarlberg. It is located at an altitude of 1,410 meters and had 90 inhabitants (as of Jan 1, 2019). History The settlement of Klösterle probably originated in the 9th century, at a time of silver mining in the Klostertal valley and the neighbouring Montafon valley. In a document dating back to 1218, Count Hugo I of Montfort of the Johanniter guaranteed “fire, water, and shelter” for poor passengers. To provide for this, an accommodation was built in the chapel area. In another document from 1330, Stuben was referred to for the first time - as a post station and the “Kaiser’s highest living room”. As a result of improvements made of the Arlbergpass at the behest of Maria Theresia and her son Joseph II, Stuben's textile industry started flourishing and the post traffic increased. Arlberg
Arlberg () is a massif between Vorarlberg and Tyrol in Austria. The highest peak is the Valluga at . The name ''Arlberg'' derives from the tradition of the "Arlenburg", who are said to have once established themselves on the Tyrolean side of the Arlberg passes (1,793 m above sea level). E4 European Long Distance Path
The E4 European long distance path or E4 path is one of the European long-distance paths. Starting at Tarifa Andalusia, located at the southernmost end of the Iberian Peninsula, across the Strait of Gibraltar facing Morocco, it continues through Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece to end in Cyprus. It also visits the Greek island of Crete. It is more than long, but the route through Romania and part of Bulgaria is not yet completely defined.
