The Baseballs are a German rock and roll band founded in Berlin in 2007. They became popular with 1950s and 1960s style rock cover versions of modern hits such as "Umbrella" by Rihanna, "Crazy in Love" by Beyoncé, "Hot n Cold" by Katy Perry and " Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen. Nylon Beat
Nylon Beat was a Finnish girl group consisting of Jonna Kosonen and Erin Koivisto (later known as Erin during her solo career). Their main period of popularity was during the late 1990s and early 2000s. History The band was formed in 1995 as a result of the TV show "Kiitorata" ('runway' in English). At that time, both girls were only 18 years old. They started with backup tracks and dancers. Later their music matured somewhat and finally they performed fully live with a band of professional musicians. Most of the music was written by Risto Asikainen and Ilkka Vainio and produced by Asikainen. "Don't Cha" is a song written by Busta Rhymes and CeeLo Green, and produced by the latter. The chorus is an interpolation of the song "Swass", which was written and performed by Sir Mix-a-Lot. The song was originally recorded and published by Tori Alamaze, former backing vocalist for the hip hop duo OutKast, and was released as her debut single. After minor success and dissatisfaction with Universal Records, Alamaze gave up her rights to the song. Universal offered the song to the American burlesque dance troupe the Pussycat Dolls, who were about to reinvent as a pop music girl group.
