Strictly Come Dancing (series 6)
''Strictly Come Dancing'' returned for its sixth series on 20 September 2008 on BBC One. Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly returned as co-presenters of the main show on BBC One, whilst Claudia Winkleman returned to present spin-off show '' Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two'' on BBC Two. Craig Revel Horwood, Arlene Phillips, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli returned as judges. The show featured 16 celebrities (two more than the previous series) who were paired with 16 professional dancers. The new professionals were Brian Fortuna and Hayley Holt, who had previously appeared in the American and New Zealand versions of the show respectively, and Russian dancer Kristina Rihanoff, who had taken part in the Dancing with the Stars tour. Thomas Stuart Chambers (born 22 May 1977) is an English actor, known for his role as Sam Strachan in the BBC medical dramas ''Holby City'' and ''Casualty'', Max Tyler in BBC drama series '' Waterloo Road'' and Inspector Sullivan in ''Father Brown''. He also won the sixth series of ''Strictly Come Dancing'' with his partner Camilla Dallerup. Early life Chambers was born and raised in a small village called Darley Dale in Derbyshire and was educated at Repton School. Career Chambers attended the National Youth Music Theatre and Guildford School of Acting. He has starred opposite Matthew Rhys and Kate Ashfield in the British film ''Fakers''. Hayley Doreen Holt (born 3 July 1980) is a New Zealand television presenter and former snowboarder and ballroom dancer, who presents sports news on 1 News At 6pm. She co-presented TVNZ ''Breakfast'' from 2018 to 2020 alongside Jack Tame and later John Campbell, and earlier was notable for her appearances on several reality television series, as well as co-hosting a networked breakfast show on More FM from 2012 to 2013. Anthony Paul Beke (born 20 July 1966), known professionally as Anton Du Beke (), is a British ballroom dance, ballroom and Latin dancer, and television presenter, best known for being a professional dancer and later a judge on the BBC One celebrity dancing show, ''Strictly Come Dancing'', since the show began in 2004. His professional dance partner since 1997 has been Erin Boag. Gillian Taylforth (born 14 August 1955) is an English actress. She is best known for her role as Kathy Beale on the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', and has also appeared as Jackie Pascoe/Webb on ITV's ''Footballers' Wives'' (2002–2006), and as Sgt. Nikki Wright in ITV's ''The Bill'' (2006–2008). Flavia Cacace-Mistry born 1980 is an Italian British professional dancer. Her professional dance partner is Vincent Simone (they are branded when performing together as 'Vincent and Flavia'), and for ten years both partners appeared on the BBC's ''Strictly Come Dancing''. Alesha Anjanette Dixon (born 7 October 1978) is an English singer, rapper, dancer, television personality, and author. Nicole Cutler (née Westdyk; born 8 June 1972) is a professional ballroom dancer and former World Amateur Latin-American champion. She was born Nicole Westdyk in Durban, South Africa and after taking up ballet at the age of four, first tried out ballroom and Latin-American dancing at the age of twelve. ''Dancing with the Stars'' is the name of various international television series based on the format of the British TV series '' Strictly Come Dancing'', which is distributed by BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC.
