Stress (pop Rock Band)
Stress was an American pop rock band formed in San Diego in 1983. Biography Stress was founded in 1983 by bassist Josquin des Pres and vocalist/guitarist Mike Thomas. They added guitarist Tim Nicholson and went through a number of drummers; most notably Jeff Gabaldon and Leroy Vega (formerly of Assassin). When Nicholson left in early 1985, he was replaced with guitarist Jimmy Crespo, who had previously played with Aerosmith. Stress performed primarily in San Diego and Los Angeles performing at clubs such as Madame Wong's, FM Station, The Troubadour, and The Roxy. Stress Disbanded in late 1987 when Josquin Des Pres began a career as a record producer and Mike Thomas started a solo career. His first solo effort "Circular Motion" recorded in France in 1988 was produced by Josquin Des Pres. Pop Rock
Pop rock (also typeset as pop/rock) is a fusion genre with an emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft, and less emphasis on attitude than rock music. Originating in the late 1950s as an alternative to normal rock and roll, early pop rock was influenced by the beat, arrangements, and original style of rock and roll (and sometimes doo-wop). Assassin (band)
Assassin was a Heavy metal music, heavy metal band that was formed in San Diego during the summer of 1983 by guitarists Thom Beebe and Vinnie Cavarra. They sought out noted drummer Leroy Vega and, in recruiting him, also lucked into a vocalist, his friend Pete Papps, both of whom had previously played in the band Vengeance with future Dio (band), Dio guitarist Craig Goldy. After a brief stint with bassist Neil Foote, the band settled into its classic early line-up with the addition of Chicago native John Osmon on bass, another former Vengeance member. Thom brought in a handful of songs from his previous band, Child, which had briefly featured Jake E. Lee on second guitar, and Vinnie had a few songs as well. Jimmy Crespo
Jimmy Crespo (born July 5, 1954) is an American guitarist. He was the lead guitarist for Aerosmith from 1979 until 1984. He co-wrote "Rock in a Hard Place" with Steven Tyler, and has performed or recorded with Rod Stewart, Billy Squier, Meat Loaf, Stevie Nicks, Robert Fleischman, Rough Cutt, Renegade, Flame and others.
