Street Map (album)
Street Map is an EP of new studio recordings from the Innocence Mission. Limited to 5,000 copies, the release is their first since 2000's ''Christ Is My Hope Christ Is My Hope is the third EP by the American alternative rock band the Innocence Mission. A collection of newly recorded spiritual music ("O Lord of Light", "O Sacred Head Surrounded", "Beautiful Saviour"), folk songs ("500 Miles "500 ...'' to be sold though their website without the involvement of a record label. Originally intended to preview their next studio LP, an update to their website in September 2009 revealed that after further recording, the next LP "turned out to be a mostly new group of songs, with maybe one song from Street Map." In March 2010, however, it was announced that no songs found on ''Street Map'' would appear on the upcoming album. ''My Room in the Trees'' was released in July. The Innocence Mission
The Innocence Mission is an American indie folk band formed in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1986. The band is composed of Karen Peris (née McCullough), her husband (and fellow guitarist) Don Peris, and Mike Bitts (on bass guitar). Although all members of the band have contributed to their music, Karen Peris is their main writer. History The band members met in 1980 during a Catholic school production of ''Godspell''. Before being signed to a record label, the band was originally called ''Masquerade'' and played covers at local clubs, events and at Lancaster Catholic High School (the alma mater of the band members). By 1986, the band had changed its name to ''The Innocence Mission'' and began to write original music. They released a self-funded EP titled ''Tending the Rose Garden'' in 1986, of which only 1,000 copies were produced. We Walked In Song
''We Walked in Song'' is the eighth studio album by the Innocence Mission. It was released in North America on March 13, 2007 by Badman Recording Co., with a vinyl edition containing the bonus track "Shooting Star (Sketch)" following a week later on March 20. All international versions of the album include the bonus track. A European release containing three bonus tracks was commissioned later that year by French record label Fargo. One of these exclusive recordings, "Song from Holland," was a new song recorded after the album sessions and was sold as a one-track digital single by retailers such as iTunes and Amazon; while the other, "Do You See My Brothers Coming?," dates back to recording sessions from 2001. My Room In The Trees
''My Room in the Trees'' is the ninth studio album by the Innocence Mission, released July 13, 2010 by Badman Recording Company. The iTunes edition of the album contained an exclusive bonus track, "Greys and Blues". The song was a pre-order bonus track, meaning that it was only available to those who pre-ordered the entire album before July 13. Background and production Intended for release in spring 2009, the album was preceded by the EP ''Street Map'' in December 2008. The EP – released independently by the Innocence Mission via their own LAMP label – was intended to preview several tracks that would appear on their upcoming studio album. Christ Is My Hope is the third EP by the American alternative rock band the Innocence Mission. A collection of newly recorded spiritual music ("O Lord of Light", "O Sacred Head Surrounded", "Beautiful Saviour"), folk songs ("500 Miles "500 Miles" (also known as "500 Miles Away from Home" or "Railroaders' Lament") is a song made popular in the United States and Europe during the 1960s folk revival. The simple repetitive lyrics offer a lament by a traveler who is far from home ..."), ballads (" Fare Thee Well"), and original songs ("No Storms Come", "Christ Is My Hope", "Morning Star"), the record was released independently by the group's own label, LAMP, with all proceeds donated to hunger relief charities. The lyrics to "No Storms Come" are adapted from the poem "Heaven-Haven (A Nun Takes the Veil)" by 19th-century English poet Gerard Manley Hopkins.
