Stratford (formerly, Stratton) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kings County, California, United States. Stratford is located southwest of Hanford, at an elevation of . It is part of the Hanford– Lemoore Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,277 at the 2010 census, up from 1,264 at the 2000 census. Geography Stratford lies near the historic shoreline of Tulare Lake. The Kings River flows through an artificial channel into the normally dry Tulare Lake bed about south of Stratford. State Route 41 (SR 41) is a state highway in California, connecting the Central Coast with the San Joaquin Valley and the Sierra Nevada. Its western terminus is at the Cabrillo Highway ( SR 1) in Morro Bay, and its eastern terminus is at SR 140 in Yosemite National Park.
