Strange Empire
''Strange Empire'' is a Canadian television drama series that aired on CBC Television in the 2014–15 television season. Created by Laurie Finstad-Knizhnik, the series is a serialized Western drama set in Janestown, near the Alberta-Montana border in the 1860s, in which three women band together for survival after their husbands are murdered. The cast includes Cara Gee, Melissa Farman and Tattiawna Jones. The first season began airing on 6 October 2014 and consists of 13 episodes. CBC cancelled the series in March 2015 after one season. ''Strange Empire'' was broadcast on LMN in the US and was renamed ''Strange Empire: Rise of the Women'', it premiered on May 29, 2015. Andy Mikita
Andy Mikita is a Canadian television director and producer. He has worked in the TV and film industry for over 30 years. Mikita is best known for his work as a director and producer for ''Stargate SG-1'', and its sister shows ''Stargate Atlantis'' and ''Stargate Universe''. Career Andy Mikita began his television career on the 1987 series ''21 Jump Street'' where he worked as a second assistant director. He worked on many other television series from 1989 to 1996, until he joined ''Stargate SG-1s crew as a first assistant director in 1997 and in 1999 he made his directing debut on the episode "Foothold". Will Waring
William Michael "Will" Waring is a camera operator and director, primarily for ''Stargate SG-1'' and ''Stargate Atlantis''. He attended the Film Production course at the Theatre department of the University of British Columbia, where he developed the "WillyCam", a mechanical camera stabilisation device. Anne Wheeler
Anne Wheeler, OC, (born September 23, 1946) is a Canadian film and television writer, producer, and director. Biography Graduating in Mathematics from the University of Alberta she was a computer programmer before traveling abroad. Her years of travels inspired her to become a storyteller and when she returned she joined a group of old friends to form a film collective. From 1975 to 1985 she worked for the NFB where she made her first feature film, ''A War Story'' (1981), which was about her father, Ben Wheeler and his time as a doctor in a P.O.W. camp during World War II.
