Shrubland
Shrubland, scrubland, scrub, brush, or bush is a plant community characterized by vegetation dominated by shrubs, often also including grasses, herbs, and geophytes. Soetendalsvlei
Soetendalsvlei is a natural fresh water lake in the Agulhas Plains in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is the southernmost lake of the African continent and South Africa's second largest freshwater lake after Lake Chrissie. Western Cape
The Western Cape is a province of South Africa, situated on the south-western coast of the country. Stanford, Western Cape
Stanford is a small riverside village in Overberg District Municipality in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Located 16 km east of Hermanus and 22 km north-east of Gansbaai. History The village of Stanford was founded in 1857 and named after its founder, Sir Robert Stanford who owned the original farm. Situated in the heart of the Overberg, Stanford is known for its beautifully preserved and renovated Cape Victorian and Edwardian styled houses and buildings. The village as a whole was declared a Heritage Site and in 1992 the Stanford Conservation Trust was formed to ensure the protection and conservation of the environment and heritage resources in and around Stanford. Gansbaai
Gansbaai (Dutch/Afrikaans for "bay of geese," sometimes referred to as Gans Bay or Gangs Bay) is a fishing town and popular tourist destination in the Overberg District Municipality, Western Cape, South Africa. It is known for its dense population of great white sharks and as a whale-watching location. The main tourist attraction in Gansbaai since approximately 1995 has been cage diving with great white sharks. Franskraalstrand, also known as Franskraal, is a coastal village near to Gansbaai in the Western Cape province of South Africa. it had a population of 1,165 people in 592 households. Franskraalstrand is situated on the southern coast of the Danger Point peninsula, about to the southeast of Gansbaai. It lies between the neighbouring village of Van Dyksbaai to the west and the mouth of the Uilkraal River to the east. The R43 highway passes along the northern edge of the village. Baardskeerdersbos (or Baardscheerders Bosch, locally known as B'bos) is a village in the Overberg region of the Western Cape province of South Africa. Wolvengat, also known as Viljoenshof, is a village in the southern Overberg region, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is situated south of Elim and southwest of Bredasdorp. It was originally named ''Wolfgat'' or ''Wolvengat'' in reference to the brown hyena The brown hyena (''Parahyaena brunnea''), also called strandwolf, is a species of hyena found in Namibia, Botswana, western and southern Zimbabwe, southern Mozambique and South Africa.
