Straight From The Hart
''Straight from the Hart'' is a 2011 autobiography by Canadian professional wrestler Bruce Hart. The book chronicles Hart's childhood in Calgary as a member of the Albertan Hart wrestling family, his career in the wrestling industry to his later life as a trainer. It was published by ECW Press. The book is one of a long line of books by or about members of Hart's family. Publication history The book was first announced in May 2010. In March Hart was interviewed about the book on WDFN Wrestling Elite and Monday Night Mayhem. On Monday Night Mayhem Hart explained that the motivation for him writing the book partly came from the fact that he believed that despite all of the many books about his family none of them did it justice. The cover blurb was revealed on June 10, 2010, and mainly described Hart's childhood and family relations. Bruce Hart (wrestler)
Bruce Edward Hart (born January 13, 1950) is an American born-Canadian retired professional wrestler, promoter, booker, trainer and school teacher. He is a second-generation wrestler and a member of the Hart wrestling family, being the second child of Stu and Helen Hart. He is best known for his time in Stampede Wrestling and several appearances for WWE, often with his brothers Bret and Owen. As a wrestler Hart carried a number of championships, including the Stampede North American Heavyweight Championship and participated in WWF's Survivor Series. Bret Hart (born July 2, 1957) is a Canadian-American retired professional wrestler, currently signed to WWE under a legend's contract. A member of the Hart wrestling family and a second-generation wrestler, he has an amateur wrestling background, wrestling at Ernest Manning High School and Mount Royal University, Mount Royal College. Dynamite Kid
Thomas Billington (5 December 1958 – 5 December 2018), best known by the ring name the Dynamite Kid, was a British professional wrestler. Trained by former wrestler "Dr Death" Ted Betley, he competed in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), Stampede Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). Heath McCoy is a Canadian sports journalist and author, best known for his work on professional wrestling, having wrote two acclaimed books about Canadian professional wrestling. Career McCoy has written two non-fiction historical books about professional wrestling in Canada, the first being '' Pain and Passion: The History of Stampede Wrestling'' in 2005 which is about the iconic Stampede Wrestling promotion and territory, and the second being 2008s '' Benoit: Wrestling with the Horror that Destroyed a Family and Crippled a Sport'' about wrestler Chris Benoit and his double-murder and suicide. Stampede Wrestling
Stampede Wrestling was a Canadian professional wrestling promotion based in Calgary, Alberta. For nearly 50 years, it was one of the main promotions in western Canada and the Canadian Prairies. Originally established by Stu Hart in 1948, the promotion competed with other promotions such as NWA All-Star Wrestling and Pacific Northwest Wrestling and regularly ran events in Calgary's Victoria Pavilion, Ogden Auditorium and the Stampede Corral between 1948 and 1984. Bought out by promoter Vince McMahon, the company was briefly run by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) before being sold back to the Hart family the following year. The Hart Dungeon or Hart Family Dungeon, otherwise known simply as The Dungeon, was the gym and wrestling school located in the basement of the Hart mansion. The school was created by Stu Hart, patriarch of the Hart wrestling family and is known for having produced some of the greatest and most successful professional wrestlers of all time. Location description The room was located in the Hart family mansion basement and had a very low ceiling. For most of the duration of the room being used as training hall there was a wrestling mat located on the floor without any ropes which would be used for training students.
