Stoyan Alexandrov
Stoyan Alexandrov (; 14 June 1949 – 24 August 2020) was a Bulgarian economist, and the Minister of Finance under Prime Minister Lyuben Berov. Alexandrov was born in Iliya, Kystendil. A graduate of the Svishtov Academy of Economics, he was the President of the Directors' Council, Chief Executive Director of the CCB, and President of the Governing Council of the Association of Commerce Banks. Previously from 1975 until 1993, Alexandrov was a lecturer at the University of National and World Economy and was the Bulgarian Socialist Party candidate for Mayor of Sofia Sofia ( ; bg, София, Sofiya, ) is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria. Lyuben Berov
Lyuben Berov ( ) (6 October 1925 – 7 December 2006) was a Bulgarian economist. He served as Prime Minister of Bulgaria in the 83rd Government of Bulgaria from 30 December 1992 to 17 October 1994. Berov was born in Sofia, studied economics, and worked as an advisor to President Zhelyu Zhelev, the country's first non-Communist president. Svishtov Academy
Svishtov ( bg, Свищов ) is a town in northern Bulgaria, located in Veliko Tarnovo Province on the right bank of the Danube river opposite the Romanian town of Zimnicea. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Svishtov Municipality. The town is the second-largest in the province after the city of Veliko Tarnovo and before Gorna Oryahovitsa. Name The origins of the name Svishtov can be found in its old Bulgarian variation Sveshtniy (Свѣщний), deriving from the word ''svesht'' or ''svyasht'' (свѣщ), meaning "candle". This was due to the existence of a lighthouse in the city. The previous name Sistova was first mentioned in the peace treaty that ended the Austro-Turkish War in 1791, when Bulgaria was still under Ottoman rule. Stefan Sofianski
Stefan Antonov Sofiyanski ( bg, Стефан Антонов Софиянски ) (born November 7, 1951) is a Bulgarian politician who served as interim Prime Minister of Bulgaria in 1997 and was a three-term Mayor of Sofia. He was a leading member of the Union of Democratic Forces. Sofiyanski was born in Sofia in 1951. He was a statistics graduate from the Karl Marx Higher Institute of Economics and held a number of positions in the Ministry of Communications and Information during communist rule. He served in the cabinet of Filip Dimitrov and became one of the leading members of the UDF. He was elected Mayor of Sofia in 1995 and served in this position, being re-elected twice - in 1999 and 2003, until 2005 when he resigned to become a parliamentary deputy.
