Stotfold F.C. Managers
Stotfold is a small town and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England. Stotfold is thought to have gained its name from the northern drovers breaking their journey south at this point on the A1 Great North Road and penning their horses (stots) in enclosures (folds) before continuing their journeys southwards. The River Ivel runs through the town. Stotfold covers and the population at the 2001 census was 6,190. Stotfold is close to the county border with Hertfordshire, and has a Stevenage postcode. In 2010 there was a campaign to have the town absorbed into North Hertfordshire District Council. Landmarks Stotfold Watermill Stotfold Watermill stands on the River Ivel and is one of four mills in Stotfold that were recorded in the Domesday Book. Central Bedfordshire is a unitary authority area in the ceremonial county of Bedfordshire, England. It was created in 2009. Fairfield Hospital, Bedfordshire
Fairfield Hospital in Fairfield, Bedfordshire, England was a psychiatric hospital from 1860 to 1999. It is a Grade II listed building. History Construction of ''The Fairfield Three Counties Asylum'' by William Webster on a site between Letchworth, Arlesey and Stotfold commenced in 1856. The new hospital replaced the Bedford Lunatic Asylum in Ampthill Road in Bedford, which had been built in 1812. The Fairfield Hospital was designed by George Fowler Jones with the longest corridor in the United Kingdom, at half a mile long. The clay for its bricks came from the nearby Arlesey Pits. The hospital, which catered for patients from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Huntingdonshire, opened with the transfer of 6 male and 6 female patients from Bedford Lunatic Asylum on 8 March 1860. ''Aquila'' is a British children's television show which aired on the BBC from 1997 to 1998. An episode was aired once a week, and was based on the story of two boys, Tom Baxter and Geoff Reynolds, who find a spacecraft when digging in a field. The first series was based on the 1997 book ''Aquila'' by British author Andrew Norriss who novelised the second series though this was not published until 2010. Synopsis The two boys are on a weekend away with their mothers where they do some digging for treasure at a local moor. As Geoff is digging, he falls into a cavern followed cautiously by Tom. It is there they find the skeleton of a Roman Centurion, standing beside a large red object which looks like a giant boulder.
