''Storm in a Water Glass'' (German: ''Sturm im Wasserglas'') is a 1960 West German comedy film directed by Josef von Báky and starring Ingrid Andree, Hanns Lothar and Therese Giehse. It is an adaptation of a play by Bruno Frank, which had previously been made into a 1931 film of the same title, and, in 1937, in Great Britain, as, ''Storm in a Teacup''. It was shot at the Spandau Studios in Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art director Erich Kettelhut and Johannes Ott. Erich Karl Heinrich Kettelhut (1 November 1893 – 13 March 1979) was a German production designer, Art director#In film, art director and set decorator. Kettelhut is considered one of the most important artists in the history of early German cinema, mainly for his set direction for ''Die Nibelungen'' (1924) and his design and visual effects for ''Metropolis (1927 film), Metropolis'' (1927). His early career was defined by a working relationship with fellow designers Otto Hunte and Karl Vollbrecht, the trio working on many of Fritz Lang's early German films. Klaus Havenstein (7 April 1922 in Wittenberge, Germany – 19 March 1998 in Munich), was a German actor, cabaret artist, dubbing artist and television presenter. Biography Klaus Havenstein grew up in Hamburg, where he started an apprenticeship as a retail salesman in 1937. At the same time, against his father's wishes, he took acting lessons from a private teacher. In 1939 Havenstein served in the 1st SS Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler where he joined the artillery. He took part in the Battle of France, in the occupation of Greece and in the war against Russia. In 1945 he was captured and was held by the U.S. Army as a prisoner of war. The Americans recognised his talent and brought him to a special camp in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to entertain imprisoned officers. There, he was discovered as a theatre actor, and it was in the Garmisch theatre that he first appeared on stage, promoted by the famous German actor Hans Söhnker among others. Werner Finck (2 May 1902 – 31 July 1978) was a German ''Kabarett'' comedian, actor and author. Not politically motivated by his own admission but just a "convinced individualist", he became one of Germany's leading cabaret artists under the conditions of the Nazi suppression after 1933. Biography Born in Görlitz in Prussian Silesia, the son of a pharmacist, Finck attended an art school in Dresden and began his career as an itinerant storyteller of fairy tales in the 1920s. He took acting lessons and began a mediocre tenure in the theatre, making his debut in Silesian Bunzlau (present-day Bolesławiec, Poland). However, it became obvious that he had "comic bones" and when he met a friend who had contacts in the Berlin ''Kabarett'' scene, he found his true calling. Harry Meyen
Harry Meyen (born Harald Haubenstock; 31 August 1924 – 15 April 1979) was a German film actor. He appeared in more than 40 films and television productions between 1948 and 1975. In the 1960s he also worked as a theatre director in West Germany. Personal life Meyen was born in Hamburg, the son of a Jewish merchant who was deported to a concentration camp during the Nazi regime. The 18-year-old Meyen himself was incarcerated as a ''Mischling'' and survived the Neuengamme concentration camp. After the war, he began his career with Willy Maertens at the Hamburg Thalia Theater. From 1952 he performed at the Theater Aachen and from 1955 moved to Berlin. Also starring in films directed by Helmut Käutner, Falk Harnack and Wolfgang Staudte, he played the role of a young ''Luftwaffe'' officer in the 1955 movie ''Des Teufels General'' side by side with Curd Jürgens.
