George Larkin
George Larkin (November 11, 1887 – March 27, 1946) was an American film actor of the silent era. He appeared in more than 150 films between 1910 and 1931. He was born and died in New York, New York. He was married to actress Ollie Kirkby. In addition to his acting career, Larkin also wrote scripts with his wife, which include '' Bulldog Courage'' (1922) and ''The Pell Street Mystery'' (1924). Ollie Kirby
Ollie Kirkby (September 26, 1886 – October 7, 1964) was an American stage, screen, and vaudeville actress. Biography She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1886 and died in 1964 at Glendale, California. Her entire career, from 1914 to 1925, was dedicated to making short films or film serials. She was known for the dimple on her shoulder and often photographed showing that distinguishing feature. Kirkby began working in films with Kalem in 1912. After two years there, she worked for Favorite Players Company for a year and then returned to Kalem. She married actor George Larkin in 1918. He died in 1946. A silent film is a film with no synchronized recorded sound (or more generally, no audible dialogue). Though silent films convey narrative and emotion visually, various plot elements (such as a setting or era) or key lines of dialogue may, when necessary, be conveyed by the use of title cards. The term "silent film" is something of a misnomer, as these films were almost always accompanied by live sounds. During the silent era that existed from the mid-1890s to the late 1920s, a pianist, theater organist—or even, in large cities, a small orchestra—would often play music to accompany the films.
