''Stoosh'' is the second studio album by British rock band Skunk Anansie, released on 7 October 1996. Critical reception AllMusic's Tom Demalon stated: "Skunk Anansie's full-frontal charge can be wearing at times, but for a good dose of aggressive, hard rock with better-than-average lyrics, ''Stoosh'' succeeds more than it fails." Tom Sinclair of ''Entertainment Weekly'' wrote that the record "finds Skunk Anansie trading their debut's polite Pat Benatar-ish rock for a bigger, more confrontational sound that flirts with metallic overkill even as it embraces folk and pop", adding that "they've toughened up with ''Stoosh''." In 2005, ''Stoosh'' was ranked number 367 in ''Rock Hard'' magazine's book ''The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time''. Skunk Anansie
Skunk Anansie are a British rock band whose members include Skin (lead vocals, guitar), Cass (bass, guitar, backing vocals), Ace (guitar, backing vocals) and Mark Richardson (drums and percussion). Skunk Anansie formed in 1994, disbanded in 2001 and reformed in 2009. The name "Skunk Anansie" is taken from Akan folk tales of Anansi the spider-man of Ghana, with "Skunk" added to "make the name nastier". They have released six studio albums: ''Paranoid & Sunburnt'' (1995), ''Stoosh'' (1996), ''Post Orgasmic Chill'' (1999), ''Wonderlustre'' (2010), ''Black Traffic'' (2012) and ''Anarchytecture'' (2016); one compilation album, ''Smashes and Trashes'' (2009); and several hit singles, including "Charity", "Hedonism", "Selling Jesus" and " Weak". Garth Richardson
Garth "GGGarth" Richardson is a Canadian record producer and music engineer. He is the son of music producer Jack Richardson (Alice Cooper, The Guess Who, Badfinger, Poco), a pioneer of the music recording industry in the 1960s and 1970s. Garth Richardson has done music engineering work for the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback, and Mötley Crüe, and produced for Kittie, Biffy Clyro, Rage Against the Machine, Mudvayne, Melvins, Shihad, Kensington, and many others. He cofounded the Nimbus School of Recording Arts in Vancouver, British Columbia together with Bob Ezrin and Kevin Williams. The school was named after Richardson's father's production company, Nimbus 9, and offers courses in production, recording, and audio. Richardson has the nickname 'GGGarth' due to his mild stutter. "Hedonism (Just Because You Feel Good)" is a song by British rock group Skunk Anansie. It was released in January 1997 as a single from their second album, ''Stoosh'' (1996). The song reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart and was certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in February 2019 for sales and streams exceeding 200,000. It also proved to be a top-10 hit in the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland. In Iceland, the song peaked at number one. "Brazen (Weep)" is the fourth and final single from British rock band Skunk Anansie's second album, ''Stoosh'' (1996). It was released on 2 June 1997 and reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart, making the song the band's most successful hit in their home country. In Iceland, it peaked at number one, ending 1997 as the year's third-most-successful single. Three versions of the single were released; CD2 and CD3 are remix CDs. ''Paranoid & Sunburnt'' is the debut studio album by British rock band Skunk Anansie, first released in 1995 via One Little Indian Records. It was re-released in 2005 with a DVD featuring the videos to the singles. This album was recorded with the band's original drummer, Robbie France, but he is not featured on the cover. ''Post Orgasmic Chill'' is the third studio album by British rock band Skunk Anansie, first released in 1999. Two album covers exist: the European version with the band lounging in an oceanside apartment, and the American version with the band standing on the Atlantic City boardwalk. It was a complete departure from their previous two albums, which had elements of punk rock and alternative rock by moving to a new harder sound with elements of hard rock and alternative metal. It took eleven years for the group to release their next album, ''Wonderlustre''. Etymology The album title resembles the title of the 13th song, a Japanese bonus track called "Post Orgasmic Sleep". Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. String Quartet
The term string quartet can refer to either a type of musical composition or a group of four people who play them. Many composers from the mid-18th century onwards wrote string quartets. The associated musical ensemble consists of two violinists, a violist, and a cellist.
