Bob Stoops
Robert Anthony Stoops (born September 9, 1960) is an American football coach. He was the head football coach at the University of Oklahoma from 1999 through the 2016 season, and on an interim basis during the 2021 Alamo Bowl. He led the Oklahoma Sooners to a record of 191–48 over his career. His 2000 Oklahoma Sooners football team won the 2001 Orange Bowl, which served as the BCS National Championship Game, and earned a consensus national championship. Since 2020, Stoops has been a head coach with the XFL, coaching the Arlington Renegades in 2020 and has been re-signed for 2023. Stoops played college football at the University of Iowa as a defensive back from 1979 to 1982. Prior to his tenure at Oklahoma, he held various assistant coaching positions at the University of Iowa, Kent State University, Kansas State University, and the University of Florida. Mark Thomas Stoops (born July 9, 1967) is an American college football coach and former player. He is currently the all time winningest head football coach in the history of the Kentucky Wildcats. Mike Stoops
Michael Joseph Stoops (born December 13, 1961) is an American football coach and former player, who is the inside linebackers coach at the University of Kentucky. Stoops also served as the head football coach at the University of Arizona from 2003 until his firing during the 2011 season. He previously served as an assistant football coach at the University of Iowa, Kansas State University, and University of Oklahoma. He is the younger brother of Bob Stoops, the former head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners football program, and the older brother of Mark Stoops, head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats football program. He returned to Oklahoma as the defensive coordinator in 2012. He served in the position until he was fired on October 7, 2018. After spending time at the University of Alabama as an analyst, he spent one season as the defensive coordinator of the Florida Atlantic Owls in 2021. Jim Stoops
James Wellington Stoops (born June 30, 1972) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for one season with the Colorado Rockies in three games during the 1998 season. Stoops attended Franklin High School in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, Somerset County, New Jersey. He did not receive any scholarship offers to play college baseball but was able to walk on to the baseball team at the University of South Carolina. Stoops was never selected in the Major League Baseball draft but signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants; he had impressed a Giants scout by pitching a scoreless relief outing against the top-ranked 1995 Clemson Tigers baseball team. On July 31, 1998, the Giants traded Stoops to the Rockies along with Darryl Hamilton and a player to be named later in exchange for Ellis Burks. Mark Stoops (Indiana)
Mark Stoops is a former Democratic member of the Indiana Senate who represented the 40th District from 2012 to 2020. He decided not to run for re-election to a third term. He was succeeded by fellow Democrat Shelli Yoder. Before being elected to the Indiana Senate, Stoops served as a Monroe County Commissioner.
