Stonewall F.C.
Stonewall F.C. is Britain's top-ranking LGBTQ+ orientated football team and the first of its kind to be FA Chartered Standard. The club is open to all, with a sizeable number of players who do not define themselves as LGBTQ+. Stonewall are affiliated to the London Football Association and play their home games at the London Marathon Community Track, Stratford, London. The club is sponsored by Adidas and EA Sports, and with their support have recently completed the successful launch of a Women/Non-Binary player's branch of the club. Structure and current activities Stonewall operates three 11's-focussed teams; the 1sts play in the and the 2nds one step lower in Division 1, both on Saturdays, and the Unity Team in the London Unity League on Sundays. These squads all train during the week, and the club also runs a weekday 5-a-side tournament on Thursdays. Stratford, London
Stratford is a town in east London, England, within the ceremonial county of Greater London. Until 1965 it was within the historic county of Essex. Part of the Lower Lea Valley, Stratford is situated 6 miles (10 km) east-northeast of Charing Cross, and includes the localities of Maryland and East Village. The London Football Association (LFA) is the regional Football Association for inner areas of London. The London FA was established in 1882 and is affiliated to The Football Association. The London FA administers all levels of men's, women's and junior football within its area, a circle 12 miles in radius with Charing Cross at the centre. Aslie Pitter
Aslie Pitter MBE (born 1960) is a British footballer who joined Stonewall F.C., Britain's first and most successful gay football club, in 1991. He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2011 New Year Honours, "for voluntary service to Stonewall FC".United Kingdom: Pitter grew up in Balham, South London. His parents, Vincent and Evelyn, were Jamaican immigrants. Pitter realised at the age of 10 that he was gay, and dealt with homophobic abuse from his schoolmates. He has played football since his youth for a number of amateur clubs. He was chosen to play midfield for the Sutton United youth team and had a trial at Wimbledon. While playing for his local club, he suffered homophobia from other players and was dropped from the first team to the fourth team after one of his teammates found out that he was gay. Middlesex County Football League
The Middlesex County Football League is a football competition based in England loosely drawing teams from the central, northern and western parts of Greater London. The league was founded in 1984 and initially had only one division, although it has since expanded greatly. It currently has a total of seven divisions. The Premier Division sits at step 7 (or level 11) of the National League System. It is a feeder to the Combined Counties Football League and the Hellenic Football League.
