Stolen Moments (1920 Film)
''Stolen Moments'' (1920) is a silent romantic drama film starring Marguerite Namara with Rudolph Valentino playing a villain, the last film in which he played one. It was released in December 1920, just a few months before Valentino was elevated to stardom by his performance in '' The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse'' (released March 6, 1921). In fact, filming of ''Stolen Moments'' was expedited so that Valentino could make it to Hollywood before filming began on '' The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse''. Plot Valentino plays José Dalmarez, a Brazilian author who is also popular with readers in the United States. In the opening scene, young Vera Blaine (Marguerite Namara) is walking through a park in Florida when she encounters Dalmarez. He gives her his photo, the back of which has a love poem. James Vincent
James Vincent (July 19, 1882 – July 12, 1957) was an American actor and film director of the silent film, silent era. He appeared in 23 films between 1910 and 1951, and directed 18 films from 1915 to 1931. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, Vincent studied drama and oratory before he became a leading man in stock theater productions. On Broadway, Vincent appeared in ''The Ragged Earl'' (1899), ''The Last of the Rohans'' (1899), ''From Broadway to the Bowery'' (1907), ''The Man Who Stood Still'' (1908), ''The Letter'' (1927), ''Insult'' (1930), ''Criminal at Large'' (1932), and ''Alien Corn'' (1933). Greenwich Plantation (also known as Greenwich Place) was a plantation founded in colonial Savannah, Province of Georgia, in 1765, on land now occupied by Greenwich Cemetery.
