A settlement also occupies land immediately adjoining the bay of the same name. The Division of Mayo is an Australian electoral division located to the east and south of Adelaide, South Australia. Created in the state redistribution of 3 September 1984, the division is named after Helen Mayo, a social activist and the first woman elected to an Australian University Council. Nature conservation is the moral philosophy and conservation movement focused on protecting species from extinction, maintaining and restoring habitats, enhancing ecosystem services, and protecting biological diversity. Agriculture
Agriculture or farming is the practice of cultivating plants and livestock. Agriculture was the key development in the rise of sedentary human civilization, whereby farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that enabled people to live in cities. Its boundaries were created in 2002 in respect to “the long established name” which is derived from the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Cassini. The principal land use is agriculture with a small amount of land being zoned for conservation. The latter use consists of the protected areas of the Lathami Conservation Park and the Parndana Conservation Park, and the strip of land along the coastline. The locality includes the former Cassini Station Complex and Mulberry Tree which is listed on the South Australian Heritage Register.
