Stjarnan Men's Basketball
The Stjarnan men's basketball team, commonly known as Stjarnan, is the men's basketball department of Ungmennafélagið Stjarnan, based in the town of Garðabær, Iceland. It is a subdivision of Ungmennafélagið Stjarnan. History Stjarnan's men's basketball team was founded in 1993. It reached the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla in 2001. After losing all its games during the 2001–02 season, the team almost folded. It managed to stay afloat and reached the Úrvalsdeild again in 2007 and advanced to the Úrvalsdeild Finals in 2011 and 2013, losing both times. It won the Icelandic Basketball Cup in 2009, 2013, 2015, 2019 and 2020. On 14 March 2019, Stjarnan defeated Haukar in the last game of the regular season and finished with the best record in the league, winning the Division championship and a home court advantage through the playoffs. Brandon Rozzell
Brandon Rozzell (born March 27, 1989) is an American professional basketball player. In 2017 he won the Swedish championship with Luleå where he was named the Finals MVP. In 2016 he was named the Basketligaen Most Valuable Player. Professional career In February 2012, Rozzell signed with Aris Leeuwarden of the Dutch Basketball League (DBL). He played for Ferreteria Brenes Barva in 2014 and Escazu in 2015 in the Costa Rica LBS. Jarrid Frye
Jarrid Jamel Frye (born May 25, 1985) is an American former professional basketball player who last played for the Stjarnan of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla. He attended Martin Luther High School and played college basketball at Sacred Heart University. Since retiring, Frye has taught Geometry at Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, Florida Professional After going undrafted in the 2007 NBA draft, Frye moved to Macedonia where he played two seasons with KK AMAK SP. Ægir Þór Steinarsson (born May 10, 1991) is an Icelandic basketball player for LEB Oro club CB Lucentum Alicante and the Icelandic national team, where he participated at the EuroBasket 2015 and EuroBasket 2017. Hlynur Bæringsson
Hlynur Elías Bæringsson (born 6 July 1982) is an Icelandic professional basketball player for Stjarnan of the Úrvalsdeild karla and a member of the Icelandic national basketball team. He won the Icelandic championship in 2010 as a member of Snæfell and the Swedish championship in 2011 as a member of Sundsvall Dragons. Hlynur was a key player with the Icelandic national team when it made its first appearance in EuroBasket in 2015 and again in 2017. The Icelandic Men's Basketball Company Cup, commonly known as the Men's Company Cup (Icelandic: Fyrirtækjabikar karla), was an annual basketball competition between clubs in Iceland that was organized by the Icelandic Basketball Federation. It was Iceland's second-tier cup competition, and is not to be confused with Iceland's first-tier cup competition, the Icelandic Cup. The 2021–2022 Bikarkeppni karla, named Vís bikarinn for sponsorship reasons, was the 56th edition of the Icelandic Men's Basketball Cup, won by Stjarnan against Þór Þorlákshöfn. The competition was managed by the Icelandic Basketball Association (KKÍ) and the cup final was played in Smárinn, Kópavogur, and broadcast live on RÚV.
