Stina Högkvist
Stina Högkvist is a Swedish art curator and an art historian. Together with Norwegian curator Marianne Zamecznik, she founded the Simon Says curatorial platform in Stockholm, Sweden, and ran it between 2001 and 2003. She has been working at the National Museum in Oslo, Norway, since 2006, where she is now director of collections. In 2009, she co-curated ''Hypocrisy: The Site Specificity of Morality'' with Cameroonian curator Koyo Kouoh at the Norwegian Museum of Contemporary Art. The same year, she co-curated the 5th in Moss, Norway, with Slovenian curator Lina Džuverović. She curated several projects with Norwegian curator Geir Haraldseth, including the exhibition ''Luringen'' at the KUIR festival in Bogota, Colombia in 2017. Women Art Historians
Women were professionally active in the academic discipline of art history in the nineteenth century and participated in the important shift early in the century that began involving an "emphatically corporeal visual subject", with Vernon Lee as a notable example. It is argued that in the twentieth century women art historians (and curators), by choosing to study women artists, "dramatically" "increased their visibility". It has been written that women artists pre-1974 were historically one of two groups; women art historians and authors who self-consciously address high school audiences through the publication of textbooks. Shaheen Merali
Shaheen Merali (born 1959) is a Tanzanian writer, curator, critic, and artist. Merali began his artistic practice in the 1980s committing to social, political and personal narratives. As his practice evolved, he focused on functions of a curator, lecturer and critic and has now moved into the sphere of writing. Previously he was a key lecturer at Central Saint Martins, Central Saint Martins School of Art (1995-2003), a visiting lecturer and researcher at the University of Westminster (1997-2003) and the Head of the Department of Exhibition, Film and New Media at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin (2003-2008). Moss, Norway
is a coastal town and a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Moss. The city of Moss was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt) and City in 1720. The rural municipality of Jeløy was merged with the city on 1 July 1943. A curator (from la, cura, meaning "to take care") is a manager or overseer. When working with cultural organizations, a curator is typically a "collections curator" or an "exhibitions curator", and has multifaceted tasks dependent on the particular institution and its mission. Koyo Kouoh (born 1967) is Cameroonian-born curator who has been serving as Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town since 2019. In 2015, the ''New York Times'' called her "one of Africa’s pre-eminent art curators and managers." She lives and works in Cape Town and Dakar.
